5.0 out of 5 stars A Fully Functional Personal Espresso Machine
I ordered this Ihomekee Espresso Machine as soon as I saw it and it is a winner. First, it is rather a Personal Espresso Machine, it is not comparable – nor it tries to be – a full scale espresso machine made for professionals. This is a professionally made machine for Personal Use. It comes well packaged, and requires minimum learning time. The manual is well written and it is important that the water needs to be heated before any operation. So, the button you choose (it has an on/off button in the base and an on/off button in the dashboard) will light up intermittently on the dashboard while it is heating, and then, when the solid light comes up, is when you get either the vapor or the pressure and heat for your espresso. I’ve had the fortune of handling all types of espresso makers, even a shot to designing them, and this is as compact as I’ve seen except, of course, those that have no vapor line. Regarding the cleaning the portafilter, it is standard procedure: just put the lever on top of the rim (see pics) and hold it in place while you knock the contents out. As simple as that, no drama here. Also, the machine is full of weight, and money, saving parts, which makes it lighter that similar machines, and easier to deal with. As for the grind, the instructions make it clear: use coarse grinding. That’s it. But if you have regular coffee, go ahead and try it. Nothing bad will come out of it. I roast and grind my own coffee beans, but that is completely up to you. Espresso coffee is abundant in any supermarkets. Use the tamper you like; the one that comes with the machines is good enough. This is a great machine, a great Personal Espresso Machine. I like it very much.
4.0 out of 5 stars May be a bit of a learning curve
This review is for Espresso Machine, Espresso and Cappuccino Coffee Maker with Milk Frother/Steam Wand B0CZ6TLPSLI know most users want to make strong coffee shots but I like Lattes. I'm also sensitive to caffeine but I love coffee. I know right? Well if you want decaffeinated coffee you obviously can't grind your own. The filters don't really look like they will allow coffee through so at first I didn't think I was supposed to use them. I did some web searching and finally found a video of them being used. The coffee maker doesn't come with a Frothing Pitcher. You may want to order one when you order the coffee maker. I didn't realize that and had to run to the store to grab one. It wasn't as easy to find as I thought it would be.It's a pretty good entry level machine and after a week of experimenting, I'm finally enjoying my Lattes at home.
5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing espresso machine
I was excited to get a new espresso machine. I sold my original espresso machine when we moved and I’ve been missing it as of recently. This special machine was really easy to set up and using it was even more simple. We packed our espresso into the tamper tightly for the best quality brew. And the water tank provided, plenty of espresso for both my husband and I to create our morning coffee concoctions. We were able to brew 2 cups of coffee in less than 30 minutes and that included the specialty drinks using the coffee syrups and sweeteners. The coffee came out super hot, which is a plus when you’re brewing your coffee prior to heading out the door for your workday. Cleaning the machine was a little bit more challenging. We wanted to make sure that it’s stating good condition for a long period of time so we probably spent more time on cleaning than we needed to, but it will be worth it if the espresso machine lasts along period of time.
3.0 out of 5 stars Good beginner machine
This is a good beginner espresso machine. It's not the same quality as some of your common top rated machines, but can give a good starting point.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great little machine
This espresso machine is great, it super small so it wont take up much room on your counter, it holds a solid amount of water. However, the tamper is combined with the scoop and its made of plastic. This may not be a problem for most but I rather dislike plastic utensils because of how cheap they feel. As someone else mentioned, if you have the handle removed or the strainer ( New to brewing so bare with me) water will pour out for a second, I also do not know if this is normal but I will assume it is. My biggest complaint is probably how low it is, I like to drink it with milk poured into it instead of just pure coffee so maybe its on me but I have to remove the bottom to get a small glass underneath.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great basic machine and foam works really well.
This espresso machine works great! It is fairly easy to clean (as any espresso machine which is to say not really) and makes a great cuppa.
2.0 out of 5 stars Just a bit too light and small
I want to like this more but just can’t. First and foremost it is too light to put the portafilter in without holding the whole machine. The small size is convenient for taking up shelf space but it hinders the frothing stem. The stem is no long enough and doesn’t have enough clearance to place a container under and get good heating. They should have made the whole thing 4 inches taller and added 2-3 inches to the frother stem.
5.0 out of 5 stars Barista-Quality Espresso at Home
The Ihomekee Espresso Machine delivers a fantastic coffee experience right from the comfort of home! With its 15-bar pump pressure, it consistently brews rich, flavorful espresso shots, rivaling my favorite café drinks. The built-in milk frother/steam wand makes it easy to create lattes, cappuccinos, and mochas with perfectly frothed milk. The semi-automatic design is straightforward and user-friendly, even for those new to espresso machines. The sleek silver and black design adds a stylish touch to any kitchen. Overall, this machine is a great balance of quality and value, perfect for any coffee lover!
99 bux? Not bad
The media could not be loaded. I'm amazed an espresso machine can be made at this price point. If you are looking at this, you are looking at a first machine to see if it works for you.Where this machine fits into the world, is as a machine that just makes espresso without any learning or drama. You buy preground coffee, put it in the filter basket. Tamp it a little, and it will make espresso. The basket has a pinhole in the bottom that creates the pressure to extract expresso and crema, rather than you having to master the art of grinding, measuring, and tamping. In a standard machine, these are not trivial parts while making espresso, it requires a lot of practice. This system is pretty forgiving on the grind, and if the coffee fits in the basket without forcing it, it will work. Tamping isn't a science with a pressurized basket, it’s just a method of pushing the coffee in the basket, without much compression, if any. This is also an idea scenario for an office, where nobody really wants to learn how to do it.A simple thing like this with a pressurized basket will make everyone happier.Espresso you make will be 80% as good as an expensive manual machine. The last part, for milk drinks, is the foam. The automatic sleeve thing that is installed on this machine will easily make bubbly milk, with zero effort. That’s not microfoam. Sadly, that is the best part, in my opinion, it’s worth effort to make it happen. This machine CAN make microfoam, easily. For this I made you a video. Watch the video, read below, follow along.First, pull that sleeve off. Get as much angle as you possible can between the steam nozzle, and your cup.Turn the steam on the tiniest bit. Submerge the tip until it just starts to bubble. Then slowly crank up the steam, keeping the tip just under the surface. Your goal is to make the milk SWIRL. While it's swirling, you keep the tip just under the surface. If it’s making bubbles, you are way too far out, push it in deeper. When it's swirling fast, and the milk is almost doubled in size, push the tip in about ½ inch deeper so it stops pulling air in. Let it swirl until it's hot. It will grow another 20 % in volume just from the heat.I made the video with the machine fresh out of the box, first time, with one arm over my phone. The second time would have been even better, oh well. It’s easy, you can do it, get rid of the milk bubbling sleeve and make some magical microfoam.I hope you found this helpful. Enjoy an awesome cappa 😊
cheaply made with some design flaws, only pressurized portafilter option but for 1st timers its ok
I will start this review off by stating I have worked with espresso machines of all price points, in both home, restaurant, and hotel settings for well over 20 years. I have used entry level machines as well as commercial machines costing more than some small cars. That said, I have never seen any machines priced this low but I will do my best at providing an unbiased and fair review, of course taking the low price into account.Let's start with initial impressions: looks nice with brushed steel, but it's actually all plastic. Incredibly lightweight for an espresso machine. The entire housing is made of plastic less the dish at the bottom reservior. Even the top warming tray is plastic. The reservoir is large, and if you know your way aorund an espresso machine priming it up/bleeding the valve to let air escape was pretty easy, even without following any instructions. The portafilter is a pressurized one, which while makes consistent shots and is very forgiving if your coffee isnt fresh or tamped well, requires a more coarse grind and as a result procudes a less rich and more flat tasting cup. There's 'fake' crema in the sense in all air and light bodied and coloured, not rich and compact as you'd get from a 'properly made' shot from a non-pressurized basket. It's much easier to get a nice looking shot but it wont taste as good in other words. Granted, using this machine requires pre-ground coffee or a grinder (spice grinder can do to given the goarser and less precise ground needed). The functions are easy to use, and you can also stop the flow by pressing down on the cup button if wanting a shorter shot. That said however, the basket wiggles way too much in the portafilter and getting coffee out after use requires a spoon as it falls out. cant use a knock box as you need to hold the clip to prevent it from falling off but then you'll knock your hand... not a good design here. Getting in the lock function to make a coffee is a little tricky too. It's not a smooth groove operation. You need to look under you to ensure you are putting it in right. Tightetning it on also requires you to grasp the machine with your other hand as for how light the machine is it will move.Forget about making any latté art or microfoam with the steam wand - the best you are gonna get (with all wands of this type) is a dishsoap like foam with big bubbles - which is fine and acceptable for a machine at this pricepoint but wont be as velvety as with better machines. It is so difficult to fairly review an espresso machine that is priced at the rock bottom level like this (99.99$ or even 89.99$ with the coupon as of August 2024), as decent grinders can't even be had for that amount. All in, if you are starting out or using this for occasions (Christmas time/holidays, birthdays) it can pass, but be prepared to deal with some of the drawbacks I stated and don't expect the same quality espresso (taste, texture, crema, aroma) or milk foam results as with more expensive options. Had the basket sit tighter in the portafilter itself it would have been closer to a 4 star review but really this is a major annoyance and inconvenience.
Super
Elle est exactement magnifique
Good value for the money
So I am basing my rating of this machine based on the price point. I needed a machine for my work office, but my machine at home is an 800$ machine and you cannot even compare the 2.This is a budget machine and I think given the price point, it's a pretty good machine. It's basic, small and compact. It does work well and it's easy to use. If this was more expensive, I'd probably give this a lower rating (maybe 3 stars). One thing I don't like is that because of the size of this machine, you can only really fit espresso cups under the nozzle. You cannot put mugs or cups for lattes.Basically, if you are on a tight budget and want a basic machine to make a cup of espresso, then I would recommend this. If you want to be able to make a variety of different coffees (lattes, cappuccinos, etc) or are a coffee fanatic that drinks fancy high end coffees, then this is not for you.
works fine
I make double espressos with it and add hot water from a kettle. Works fine. Learn how to pull a good shot and you won't have any problems.
