I have some experience in creating videos and shooting photos with a digital camera. Until now, I’ve struggled with using cheap, lightweight tripods that slip and wobble. After some research, I found the SmallRig AD-80 FreeBlazer Heavy-Duty Tripod, and I couldn’t be happier! The super sturdy build and overall quality of this tripod are excellent. It features three quick adjustments (not six) for raising and lowering, smooth panning, and an easy-to-use quick release plate. If you’ve been using flimsy, lightweight tripods, it's worth spending a bit more for this one. Today was a good day :)

Surprised at the quality for the price.My only other "SmallRig" accessory is a small camera clamp that mounts to a camera with a standard 1/4"20 screw and a swivel ball arrangement. I was so impressed with the "Clamp Mount Quality" that I choose "SmallRig" for a tripod for my Panasonic HC-X1.Very solid quality tripod with a nice case.Fluid Head works well.

Super upgrade from what I had before. Hard to judge not knowing what a better Tripod was worth, because I had nothing of this quality before to compare it to. I wanted the easier legs. It's a bit heavier than I expected, but the reviews I read were saying how Lite it is, so what do I know? I love the quick release plate, the legs, the Fluid Head is fine for my use, and I love the Ball Mount. I took it to the River yesterday and took video of the Geese and Boaters and had no problems quickly leveling it on the embankment of uneven dirt. The more I'll use it the better I'll operate it I'm sure. I'm a musician, so learning to move a Fluid Head smoothly is like learning to play an Instrument. And you can't beat the price.

The tripod looks fairly sturdy and well built, but the main issue i had in the piece i received was the pan head being extremely sticky and stiff to a point where the tripod tilted when panned.UPDATE: SmallRig support reached out to me and after a few troubleshooting steps, determined that i had a faulty piece, they sent a replacement that seems to work like a charm. So, im increasing the rating

5.0 out of 5 stars The ball head has made my life SO much easier.
The ability to easily adjust the ball head and keep everything level is great. I didn’t realize how much benefit this would have but it has made me use this over my Manfrotto every time. The leg system is much better as well and I will continue to get their products going forward. I was worried that it would feel cheap as the head seemed much lighter but once I had my rig on it I couldn’t complain.

This tripod was used 3-4 times a month indoors only and now the locking mechanism won’t work. 1 leg has failed leaving the tripod very unstable. It’s not safe to have a 4K camera with 2k lens on while the legs slide down. I wouldn’t purchase this again.

Bought this to replace my crappy Neewer tripod that has a terrible head. This one works very well and the price is right. My camera rig is a fully loaded DSLR pkg - camera, monitor, etc - and this tripod and head are awesome. Highly recommend.
Disappointing Quality and Lack of Customer Support
The media could not be loaded. I purchased this tripod with high hopes, given its seemingly affordable price. However, my experience with it has been nothing short of disappointing. The materials used in its construction are of cheap quality, and it became evident from day one.Unlike my previous tripod (a Manfrotto), which served me well for nearly a decade without any issues, this one began falling apart almost immediately. The build quality is subpar, and after just a month of use, the tripod is now completely non-functional, as clearly demonstrated in the attached video.What frustrates me even more is the complete absence of customer service. When I tried to reach out for assistance, I encountered roadblocks and found no resolution to the issues I faced with the product.In conclusion, I would strongly advise against purchasing this tripod. It may seem like a budget-friendly option, but the long-term durability and customer service are sorely lacking.
