I have tried jaggery powder before and it was the color of "light" brown sugar. This is the color of "dark" brown sugar and is a bit more clumpy. I'm not sure if moisture got into the sugar or if this is just how this brand is. The sugar tastes pretty good. It has a rich molasses or dark brown sugar flavor. I do think it's a bit more rich in the molasses flavor than the previous brand I tried.If you cook with this, make sure to blend with water and likely add less sugar. It might also brown a bit quicker because of the type of sugar. It is delicious though!The current price is $8.99 for 8oz. Because it is almost twice as strong, you should be able to use it for longer than a typical 8oz brown sugar bag.
