3.0 out of 5 stars Not easy to use
Only used 3 times on watches I think it neds to be larger so it is easier to control and use I probably will not use thus one again if I could return I would
5.0 out of 5 stars Not something your going to use a lot.
Good quality, worked when I needed it.
4.0 out of 5 stars A good watch spring bar tweezer tool set
This works well and is easy to use.
3.0 out of 5 stars slightly confusing to use but it works
Helped me have an easier experience removing the watch pins
3.0 out of 5 stars TEXNEWS Watch Spring Bar Tweezer
I get the idea and I love the idea, however, execution is not the best. It's not easy to get the holders lined up then squeeze to push the pins. I keep having slippage on one side or the other. I will not give up, so I could possibly update this to be the best watch tool ever made. However, dethroning the current spring bar tool will not be easy.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works exactly as expected
I am very pleased with this tool! I got this so I could easily change the bracelets and straps on my watches and it performs that task perfectly! Changing out the tips is straightforward but for me I need to use a magnifier to see which tip I am installing, I don't think this is an issue for most people though. I like the storage case it came with, it holds all the backup tips and the tool nicely and keeps them from getting bumped and knocked around.Great tool for any watch enthusiast
4.0 out of 5 stars Worked well on a tricky watch, but takes some practice.
I used this tool on some watches that have very tight tolerances at their lugs - these take some lining up of the actual pins on either side, and a bit of practice. Take your time. I wish the pinch quality/smooth-ness was a little bit better, but overall it's a lot easier than using the tiny little pry tools that usually come with watch bands. If you're really struggling, one of these is worth a shot.
3.0 out of 5 stars Almost on par with the best
A specialized tool is not required to remove spring bars since the normal pencil-type tool (like Brand B’s No. #6767) usually suffices but for some watches that either weren’t designed with easy access (vintage Seamasters come to mind) or come featured with shoulder-less spring bars (hello Blancpain), a tool like this can be very helpful. In the realm of spring bar pliers, the standard in the industry is the Brand B’s No. #6825 and this Texnews tool holds up fairly well by comparison to that except in a few critical areas. Curiously, this company also labels their version as a No. #6825 in the item description…While competently manufactured with a high degree of precision, one can still see some deficiencies in the Texnews version, say for example when compared with the amount of adjustability each product offers. Even though it does come well-equipped with an assortment of forks that range from 1.0 to 1.6, the fact that the maximum allowable gap differs by quite a margin, meaning that watches with wide lug widths greater than 24mm (hello Pam Radiomir and Lum Tec) are going to be out of luck using this offering. This is measured with the stop screw almost all the way out on both. Not only does Brand B provide a wider gap to handle widths beyond 24mm, the coiled spring is beefier providing better purchase of the instrument, whereas the coil spring on the Texnews feels weaker so the tool feels like it has a greater chance of slipping when being positioned into place. Finally, the tips of the forks feel weaker than what I’m used to as there’s a slight flexing that doesn’t lend to a high degree of confidence due to a slightly thinner gauge of material, but maybe that’s just my perception because it's a subtle difference. That said, unsure if it’s worth the 6-7x price differential but the wider adjustment range and overall better quality in machining of the Brand B leaves me no doubt where my preference lies.
