5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing taste!!!
Such a good item for dessert!! Recently took this along on my backpacking trip through the Sawtooth mountain range.Prep: easy! Just add boiling water.Cleanup: even easier since you eat straight out of bag!Flavor: I absolutely loved it. If you're expecting gourmet dessert you're going to be disappointed. Rather, you'll find something that tastes great and perks you up while you're in the mountains thinking you wouldn't be able to bring along something amazing since you had to pack light. My recommendation: BUY IT!! I will bring this and their other items on my next trip. Heck, I'd buy it and eat for dessert when I'm at home.
5.0 out of 5 stars The best.
We’ve tried literally dozens and dozens of different freeze dried foods, probably hundreds of them from all over the world/interwebs.This one is the absolute best dessert out of all of them, it’s not even close. We’re now sitting on well over a year’s worth of Peak’s chicken/curry, dal baht and peach cobbler…we obviously have other brands and/or flavors too but, those three are our proverbial go-to meals for everything from “too lazy to cook” to super volcanoes spewing out zombies everywhere. We’ve had these with us hiking in Sweden and Norway, in Colorado doing 14’s and in Calizuela during widespread fires etc.You will NOT be disappointed.
4.0 out of 5 stars Taste Better than I thought it would
It reminded me of like an oatmeal if theres a little xtra water added. but if lesser water it stays thick n chunky like picture. The taste was alot better than i thought it would taste. great for quick desert on go or mountain.
5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet tooth satisfaction
If you're on a trip and get a sweet tooth, this will leave you very happy and satisfied. I got a couple of these for a kayak trip and I'm glad I got 2 because the wife asked if she could have the other one after smelling the first one.
5.0 out of 5 stars Delicious!
This was an easy to make and delicious treat on a backpacking trip to Havasu by Falls. There were five people in our group and we all agreed that it was worth bringing and so delicious especially when you’re out in the wilderness. The consistency was great and it tasted amazing.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very tasty
This was very tasty. We will order it again for our hiking trips.
5.0 out of 5 stars Probably my favorite camping dessert
This Peach Cobbler is excellent! I've enjoyed it while camping and also at home. This is probably the only dehydrated dessert that I will eat outside of camping. The taste, texture and amount of dessert is perfect for 2 people. I have a hard time finishing one on my own and if I'm eating one by myself, I will save the rest for the following morning as I usually eat these at night. It stays good to the next morning and ends up being a nice little morning dessert, perfect after eating a hearty breakfast. I definitely recommend this.
3.0 out of 5 stars Lacks peaches
TL;DR Lacking fruit, too much cream and poor mouth feel lead to a failI came aross this and thought it'd be a nice addition to my go bag to pick me up on those really blue days. It still may be as it was an acceptable pond cake dessert, but not a peach cobbler I've come to expect from Peak. It had little peach flavor and I think I came across something that was supposed to be a peach in a pouch and half. The heavy milk was too much after the first few bites, and wife didn't finish hers due to flavor, "I don't want wet pound cake."This has the usual advantages of a Peak food product, easy to follow instructions. As with all of these meals if you don't get enough water in them, you'll just end up with some slighty crunchy pieces, use a tablespoon more water next time. The Ingredients that where in mine felt and tasted like they were good quality, not chemical tasting like you get with other freeze dried backpacker's food. The downside is that this just tasted like they forgot to include the fruit and put in too much cream. The downsides beside the lack of fruit, is the mouth feel. The pound cake loses its defination and becomes an anomalous gel with granola clusters interspersed throughout. This was in a pouch made with the recommended 2/3 cup boiling water. And also in a pounch made with 2/3 cup minus a tablespoon of boiling water. They both had the same consistency.Overall, I gave this only 3 stars minus 0.5 for mouth feel and minus 1.5 for taste. It was a great idea, not ready for primetime yet or a bad batch. Either way, it was disappointing.
Still good but not as advertised
I've ordered this twice trying to get this "cobbler" and both times it definitely wasn't what the packahe was advertised as ...
