5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Mini Heater
So when it comes to heaters for aquariums, finding a quality one these days is always a challenge. Even more so when you're looking for something small that can do the job. As I've used Nicrew lights for the past 5 years in my fishroom, I figured I'd give their little heater a shot.I initially purchased one of these for a mini paludarium and tested it for a month prior to commiting to tucking it in it's final location. The heater itself does a wonderful job. Remember, it's only a 50W so it is limited to the overall volume of water it can heat. On top of that, it's a mini/micro heater, so the surface area of the heater isn't ideal if you need to heat up a tank up quickly. That said, the heater does a great job of holding temps for the 5 gallons of water in my paludarium and it's nice to be able to see the digital read out of the settings rather than be stuck to fiddling with dial based heaters. If you're looking to heat a small aquarium (I would say 7 gallons or less) I would highly recommend this heater. It's small enough to not be an eye sore and the external controls are a great included feature.
5.0 out of 5 stars Solid heater
I have only had this heater for a few month but it seems to be exactly what I was looking for. Super easy to use, holds temperature well, seems to be high quality. I am becoming a big fan of Nicrew products. My favorite part is that the heater element blends into the background well and doesn’t always have a light on in the tank.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good heater.
The heater is working better than I expected.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great product
So for so good. Temp reading on switch is pretty accurate. Good looking as well
1.0 out of 5 stars Not accurate & killed a bunch of my fish!
I will start off by saying that I normally love Nicrew brand aquarium products. I've used their lights for years on both my freshwater & saltwater tanks and have also owned several of their heaters with no issues.I was upgrading my freshwater fish from a 5 gallon to a 10 gallon & needed a new heater since the one I was using was too small for the new tank.I setup the new tank, added the heater & adjusted it to 78f. Once the temperature in the tank hit 78f (just like my other tanks temp) I added my fish. Within days my fish began showing signs of Ich so I up'd the temperature in the tank to 84f to hopefully kill off some of the Ich. I also decided to get a separate thermometer to make sure that the heater's thermometer was accurate and that's where the issue was! While the heater's thermometer was reading 78f which is what I had it set to, the THREE other thermometers I stuck in there were all reading 68f!!! That is basically room temperature in my house so the heater apparently was not working at all! So when I thought I was sticking my fish into a tank heated to the exact same temperature as their old tank, it turns out that I stuck them in cold water! The drastic temperature change is probably what caused them to get Ich & several of the fish eventually died including my very expensive, rare colored Betta fish! This heater needed to be turned all the way up to 95f for it to heat the water to 78f!!! I know that most heaters will only heat to about 10 degrees above room temperature and my house is always set to 68f so heating a 10 gallon tank to 78f should not have been an issue!I did contact Nicrew directly & received a full refund but that doesn't make up for all the fish that I lost :(
5.0 out of 5 stars so far its great
holds the fish tank at the right temp
5.0 out of 5 stars Impressed by small size and even heating!
In full disclosure, I’ve only had this in my tank for 4 days, so the long term review is TBD. I bought the 100w for my 20 gallon long acquarium because everything else on the market is 9+ inches and wouldn’t allow for vertical placement in my tank. I went with this because of its size, it’s only 5.5 inches. I was skeptical that this was small and wouldn’t heat my long tank, but it’s been maintaining consistent temperature fabulously! No hot or cold spots to be found. It’s also remaining at a consistent temp. The only drawback is that it seems to be 2° off, so I have to turn it up to 79° to get it to sit at 77°. Overall, I’m excited about this! It’s small, looks sleek in the tank, and heats evenly. No problems keeping up! Once I get dish on the tank, I’ll be adding an Inkbird controller for extra peace of mind!
5.0 out of 5 stars So far so good
Only had the filter installed for a few days but it seems good. Suction works better than any of the other brands of filter I have used. In-line thermostat is a huge step up from the ones with a dial on top of the filter itself and the existence of the thermostat is a great feature for the price. Seems accurate and stable so far but I need more time to speak on its longevity and durability.
Works very well
My heater for my Oscar aquarium died so I needed another quick so the water does not go cold. I went to Pet value first and they only had one kind of heater and the price was way to much.So I went to Bolo and found this one. I was worried because the price seemed low for a good heater, but I thought I would take my chance. This heater is nice and convenient and holds the temperature exactly where I set it.The price was really good and the heater works really well. I would definitely recommend this heater.
Gute Aquarium Heizung
Für den Preis eine gute Investition, die eingestellte Temperatur wird ohne Probleme erreicht.Wenn der Heizstab solange hält wie der letzte, dann gibt's es nicht zu meckern.
Good value
Have not used yet will update review later
Works great
Haven’t had any issues with this, I have 75 gallon salt water tank and it keeps my water at a perfect temp with no dips ever
