There is a learning curve to accessing and using this device. Once that is accomplished the rest is easy. There are 4 main languages available: English, German, Spanish and Chinese. Read the instructions carefully to learn what buttons to use to turn the device on. When I turned it on, it came up in German, so I turned the machine off and on and found the screen to set the default language to English. Then I learned to use the scanner. Hold the scanner vertically and scan from left to right to the end of the sentence. The speech is clear and amazing. Use the black line on the scanning port to center the text as you scan.Then explore the various windows and there are built in videos explaining the use of the device. If you are used to a smart phone, the learning curve to using this device is about 60 minutes. Practice makes perfect. I tried English to German, Spanish and Chinese. It all worked well. It even has a built in camera, which takes and stores decent photos. This is a good tool for students, dyslexics, graduate students who work in another language or travelers. This even has a micro SD card slot. This machine can do so much. I originally got it for my wife who is blind, but she decided it was not for her. So I took it and liked it. There is a website to log onto to explore this device further and to download other languages. This is a well made handheld device and slightly bigger than a TV remote. It is handy to carry. The price is certainly moderate for such a well made and capable device. Read the instructions, learn the functions of this device and use it to your advantage. This device is certainly good for language learning. The translations are 99% accurate. This machine does have built in dictionaries. This device reminds me of a Star Trek tool and certainly functions well and looks good.

I bought this pen reader and it worked well. The only issue is that the battery drained so fast and it seem like it didn't keep the charge. Over all, it was good while it worked.

This Scan Reader Pen 4 [Collins Dictionary Built-in],Pen Scanner is amazing, I use it at work I interact with people that speak different languages and this pen helps me understand what someone's saying. Helps me communicate if they don't speak English so many features word scanner, Photo Recognition & Translation,Text to Speech & Phonetic Translation, the 3.99 inch touch screen is a nice size and the pen can be set for left or right hand the battery life is very good. I love this pen I wish they had added a hard carrying case instead of the bag.
