5.0 out of 5 stars An amazing keyboard for the price

I wanted a new gaming keyboard because I was just kind of tired of my other one, and this one came up a lot. The design is cute, and the little gif screen is a super cute touch. :) The sound of the keys is creamy and not too thwacky, they're not too loud, but my mic does pick them up a bit. They are very responsive in game, including FPS. The volume knob is very convenient. Overall super impressed and recommend!

This is my very first mechanical keyboard and I love it! I've had no issues whatsoever using this gaming both wired and in 2.4ghz mode. The battery life is really good! I was worried about the transition over to a mechanical keyboard due to noise and the pressure being a little different on the keys, but I'm really enjoying this one. It is quiet enough my friends can't hear me clicking when we're playing games, it's kind of a deeper sound. I haven't noticed any rattling on the longer keys like the space bar. I love having a knob for volume control instead of buttons. Also being able to customize the little screen with a GIF is really nice too. Took a little work to get it right, as well as watching a tutorial video, but it works well! The LED's look really good also and I love all the different options you can choose from for them! I would definitely buy this again!

4.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Board! With some Sad Inconveniences...

    I. · August 15, 2024

The media could not be loaded. TLDR Good vs Bad:Good- Pretty nice build quality. Screen is super fun. Keycaps are double shot PBT. knob is aluminum and has good tactility. Gift Switches sound and feel nice. South facing LEDs. Gasket mount. Has 1k Hz polling rate and just 4ms delay when plugged in (better than a few big name gaming keyboards).Bad- No extra switches, keycaps, or spudger. Indicator lights are BLINDINGLY bright and bleed over into keys. Per key RGB is slightly dull. Software is partially in Chinese. The app refreshed after I wrote like 10 whole paragraphs. I need to vent before retyping what I remember of it.Deep breaths 😤😌😤😌Alright I think I'm good to restart now.I got this keyboard in black with the gift switches for $53.Let's start out with the details and then go into some more specific pros/cons; Right out of the box this keyboard feels nice, above it's price margin of $53 on sale. It sounds nice and feels smooth when compared to other sub $60 keyboards, with the exception of just a few switches. The worst offender was my space bar, which had some extra spring crunch and scratch to it, but nothing a little Krytox can't fix. My alphas are nice and smooth. Switches don't wobble much. The stock keycaps are double shot PBT and about 1.3 or 1.4 mm thick (sorry I don't have as precise of a tool like those fancy Youtubers have 😔). Not the thickest, but definitely thicker than some stock sets and are pretty clean. No big imperfections I've noticed yet. I was planning on modding the board a little, but will actually use the stock keycaps.I LOVE the LCD screen. I put a little skeleton buddy on mine. Really adds to the value, screens are rare at this price point. I'll get to the experience of adding a gif later in... Sadly the negatives. The Negatives: I wish this board was perfect, but it isn't. Here's some of the problems with it.No extras (besides a keycap puller) in the box. All other prebuilts I have came with some extra switches. Maybe even some keycaps. This keyboard didn't come with either, nor a spudger to unclip the top/bottom case and open it up. This isn't like a GMK67, you can't open this with your hands (at least I can't). Last keyboard I got that was built like this was a RK, which came with a spudger.Somehow the worst part for me: the indicator lights are BLINDINGLY bright and bleed into adjacent keys. I swear charging the keyboard and turning on caps lock at the same time could blind you if you look at it for too long (this is not real medical advice). I decided just to use it in wired mode, but the light stays on for the first couple minutes I have my pc on. I couldn't stand it so I attempted to open it to place something to diffuse the lights in it. Sadly, I did not have my aforementioned RK spudger on me. I opted to use a credit card instead and actually cause minor cosmetic damage to the card... Okay the damage part was on me but the rest of my point still stands 😅Now finally onto adding a gif with software. This was an unnecessarily weird experience. First I went to the Epomaker website (Ajazz is a branch of Epomaker), but everything was in Chinese and I couldn't figure out how to get past the main screen. Then I downloaded it from the Ajazz English website and got it working. The weird part was that the app was still partially in Chinese, even though I selected English during startup. Not too much of a problem function wise, but it was odd and something I thought I should mention. Now this seems like a lot of negatives, the bad list is longer than the positives, right? But keep in mind these are mostly BIG positives and *smaller* negatives. MOST of the negatives won't affect you much at all after the initial setup and, if you're into it, a little modding. These are more just, like I said in the title, sad inconveniences. It's great for the price but becomes almost perfect if you: 1- Lube your (few) scratchiest switches with some good old Krytox 205g0. 2- Open it up and put some light diffusers (just some opaque tape or paper, no need to get fancy) over the indicator lights. 3- If you need to, tune some stabs. You don't need to change out the switches or keycaps, making these mods very cheap. Maybe $12 if you own nothing, but uses nowhere near $12 worth of materials. Lots of leftovers for any future keyboard endeavors.I transitioned way better to this part on my original review but don't remember how, so here's the transition giraffe instead 🦒I'll now compare this keyboard to the RK R65 I also reviewed on my account. The AK820 Pro has switches that are lubed astronomically better. Still not as good as some Milky Yellow Pros and definitely not HMX, but way better. Meanwhile for software, the R65 wins with QMK/VIA support. You just can't beat that. Case build quality I'd say is neck and neck, although I've seen some people say their R65 has a very flexible case. Mine doesn't, so IDK if it's a QC issue, a reworked case material, or what. R65 definately wins in lighting, those lights are super vibrant and bright (in a good way, not like the blinding indicator lights). Keycaps would have been neck and neck as well, but I notice some imperfections in the caps of my R65 the more I look at it, so a win for the Ajazz there.Basically, Ajazz AK820 Pro wins in keycaps, switches, and the screen ofc. RK R65 wins in lighting (brighter RGB, dimmer indicator lights), software support, and accessories. Since they're really isn't a winner, I'm thinking of lowering my rating for the R65 to an 8/10, 4 stars. The competition is really ramping up in the budged Bolo keyboard space, and the Ajazz Ak820 Pro is a very solid contender, even with the couple setbacks.I feel like the William Shakespeare of materialism after writing this whole novel of a review... Twice 🧐🫴💀

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE this keyboard

Getting used to a new keyboard can be difficult but this particular one was effortless. The fingers just fall right on the keys and glide to the next like life long friends. I do not have much experience with mechanical keyboards but I did research before I pulled the trigger on this unit.Super, super happy with it.Tips:The manual is the biggest down side as it doesn't really explain the options that you perform on the keyboard without additional software. Here are some of the hoykeys that I found particularly useful.Fn + Win = Locks the "F" keys to their "alt" mode.(Allows for media controls = F11 & F12 are the volume up and down buttons and F10 is mute.)Fn + Volume Knob (for 3 seconds) = Lock the scroll wheel to only work as a volume knob, and have the LED screen display a selected .gif. Pressing the knob in this mode will allow for mute and unmute. Same hoykey press enables the options menu such as led effects, colors, battery, time & date, and more.Fn + Side arrow keys = Cycles ColorsFn + Up & Down arrow keys = Cycles color intensityFn + Spacebar (for 3 secs) = Resets keyboard to factory default settingsFn + PgUP = PrintScreenConclusion:If you're in the market for a comfortable, compact keyboard with practical features, at a budget price point, this keyboard here will get the job done. Everything can be upgraded and replaced on this one, but what you get out of the box is (imo) excellent for most to unbox and get to work! Also the battery life on this unit is great! I get about a week of just battery use with 5 min sleep enabled.

    EXCELENTE CUSTO X BENEFÍCIO

The media could not be loaded.

The media could not be loaded. Functions very well and very accessible. Big enough but not to big that it takes up space on my desk. Surprised by the quality since this keyboard was cheap compared to other mechanical keyboards. Also sounds and feels creamy. Love this keyboard
