5.0 out of 5 stars 2nd Best Invention
In my opinion, this is the second best invention to assist a person as they get older. Putting on compression socks is a CHORE, ENERGY EXERTION AT ITS WORST and FRUSTATING ON THE PATIENCE! To anyone having to put on compression socks this is the best, absolutely the best invention for that CHORE. Even the learning curve for it isn't bad, directions were simple and straight forward. If you need to put them on yourself or on someone else I cannot give it high enough stars. Oh, first best invention in my opinion is the reachers. The ones that help you retrieve something on the floor or out of reach. I hope the inventors of these things made a mint on them. I know I am very thankful for both. Used daily around here.
5.0 out of 5 stars Should have purchased this one first!
Love it! Quality construction and easier and more comfortable to use than the plastic models. Steel construction is the only way to go. Easier to load than plastic models. Sure it costs a bitmore but Don't waste your money on anything less.
3.0 out of 5 stars The smaller version is OK; the larger version is almost impossible to use
The smaller version (for calves under 16”) does work, but if you can reach your toes with your hands to slip a stocking over your foot, I don’t think it’s any easier than donning compression stockings by hand (reaching inside, grabbing the heel, and pulling it back out, then slipping your foot into the pocket you have just formed and pulling the stocking up over your leg). If you can’t reach your toes, then this smaller version definitely is a good device. If you can’t reach the floor with your hands, you probably can get the stocking on the device by putting the device on a chair or table. Whether by hand or when using this device, it takes some strength and some dexterity, as well as practice. The larger version (for calves over 16 inches) is almost impossible to use successfully, because there is such a large gap between the top semicircle and the vertical support bars below it that the extremely stretched extra-large compression stocking’s cuff slips into that gap and cannot be pulled back out to slide it down the rest of the way. (see attached photos.) Just poorly designed. Both versions are sturdy and comfortable to hold, but I think they should be a couple of inches taller, both in the handles and in the middle section over which the stocking is supposed to be positioned.
1.0 out of 5 stars Impossible results
This donning device is impossible to use.It takes super strength to put a stocking over the rims. Putting your foot in the stocking is problematic. Once your foot is in the stocking, much of the stocking has already slipped off the device. The video shows how you can move it up & down to get the stocking over your leg. HOWEVER - by then the stocking is already off the device & you are left to pull it up as you did without the device. Now my foot is swollen, my hands are sore, I've been sweating so I need a shower but I'm laughing too hard at the presumption of the company to think this would actually make them money! Don't bother with this or other's like it. But you should get the gloves!
4.0 out of 5 stars Easier to pull on
Makes it easier to put on compression sock (with) practice. Made of steel material.
5.0 out of 5 stars Makes putting on compression socks easy
Sturdy wire that allows me to put on compression socks without seeking assistance from another person. My socks are 30-40 mmhg and witthout this donner, I could not put them on myself.
5.0 out of 5 stars Needs taller handles.
With the exception of its short stature, it is very well made and is designed well. Works perfectly.
2.0 out of 5 stars Could just be me...
Found it difficult to use, gave up on it.
