I was recently bombarded on social media by ads for Ryze Coffee, a coffee that is blended with mushrooms. But Ryze requires a subscription and I read that some subscibers have had a very hard time cancelling. I wanted to give mushrooms a try, so I set about researching alternatives and I found Veloto. I opted for a powder that is 100% mushroom so I can add it to coffee or other foods myself. I think I get a better value for my money by doing this instead of buying a product that is maybe 80% coffee and 20% mushrooms. The taste of Veloto mushroom powder takes a day or two to get used to, but I enjoy it now. It is quite earthy so it pairs well with the bitterness of coffee. I have one spoon of Veloto in my first cup of coffee each morning. I am relatively health-concious, but I don't restrict my diet too much. I am also active. But on the downside, I don't get enough sleep, especially on weekdays. And I drink a LOT of coffee. I find that Veloto perks me up and helps me to focus a bit, especially on days when I'm really sleep-deprived. And there's a bit of nurturing *something* I feel as I sip the first cup of coffee each day, the one that contains Veloto. It makes that first cup taste smoother & richer and it *feels* healthy.

Very happy with this. I started off using mushroom coffee products, but I prefer my coffee and why pay 6x the amount for some one else to add coffee when all I really needed was the mushroom extracts. Mushroom powder helps my stomach & mood

I am quite pleasantly surprised with the flavour of this mega mushroom powder. It's almost like a savory cocoa/instant coffee flavour. I also like the little bamboo spoon that comes inside the pouch. I am using it in my coffee in the morning. Very pleased with this purchase. It would also probably be really good in some beef broth. 😋

I can’t consume it. I don’t like the flavor at all. I can’t return it. Lion's mane Is delicious, amazing flavor and smell.

as I was brewing my coffee and was ready to pour me a cup then Bolo ran my bell! wholly cow, that must be a sign! LOL .. so just tried it, it has a long spoon with a precise scoop size,(clever)! even though the picture showed a small spoon which could be buried in the powder! I did a whole scoop in my coffee which is decaf and after about half hr or so I felt like I was in a good mood, sort of! I usually don't get a good night sleep and have to wake up several times in the middle of the night , so this stuff may help me get through the day, I hope I didn't jinxed it!!LOL over all it seems to be the real Mc coy!

I appreciate the honesty behind the company and quickly responding to my questions. As an avid forager for approximately 15years and fungi enthusiast for 10 I'm on the ropes with the use of mycelium in the blend instead of only the fruiting body. I'm researching the true benefits of the consumer with companies choosing this new much cheaper alternative for their processing; which in return appears to have significantly reduced the price for consumers. But would I rather pay $40 for less but pure fruiting body extractions or less for more of a "watered down koolaid". Respectively I'm on the ropes with leaning towards use of 100% fruiting body. I personally enjoy extracting wild foraged fungi and have truly noticed a massive health benefit by using them from skin looking younger, energy levels rising and cognitive improvement. Powder is excellent for everything I've added to soups, gravies, burgers, meatloaf, ramen, eggs/omelets, teas, coffee, dressings etc...Everyday as humans we grow and learn so I'll continue researching and I'll use this up almost daily. The medium the company they work with uses would be nice to know considering it is boiled down in this heat extraction since it's impossible to remove mycelium from it to process. From everything I've read so far fermented grains are beneficial for us too but does it outweigh the latter by using higher concentrated healing components within fruiting bodies, the cost and footprint in materials for processing and does this combo benefit the land and mankind better or just the business. I'll update soon after use and research.The flavor pretty much has that umami earthy flavor I personally enjoy. If you blend with a little milk frothing blender or hand whisk in a small amount of water first then add rest of liquids it helps dilute and blend better in cold open glass applications. It mixes well in closed thermos containers with ice and a good shake. Tastes great added into iced teas!
