Bought this cuz I refuse to pay for YouTube premium just so I can bypass all the ads while streaming from my phone or tv. Trash platform won’t get a dime out of me. Bought this so I can watch or listen to whatever I want without interruption just by copy and pasting the url on a video download site. And having it projected into my tv with this device. Works beautifully. Maybe don’t be such a trash platform YouTube. Device will pay for itself within 9 months.

I've used casting from my Android phone to tvs with built in chromecast ability before, and there's usually quite a bit of lag. I got this to try on other screens, but also tried it on smart tvs.On a standard HDMI monitor, it worked fantastically. The latency was very low and it cast well. The only thing I'd really want to improve is a way to rotate the screen. If you're using a vertical app on the phone, it shows vertical on the screen with tons of black space on the sides. It'd be great to be able to rotate the monitor and have the vertical image be larger. I think that's a limit of the casting tech, not the device.I also tried it on a smart tv. There was no nearby outlet, so I was powering it off the tv's usb port. It worked, but would frequently drop the connection. I suspect it is power related or possibly conflict with the tv's own casting abilities. I didn't have the opportunity to troubleshoot further.Basically, casting is always a bit of an issue, so be sure to test this out before doing anything critical with it!

We USE to have a HDMI cable from a large screen that had to be transferred between computers when giving presentations. This hides behind the monitor well, and works easily, with a great picture quality.

The connection of this adapter is very unstable and often disconnected. During use, the screen will often suddenly go back and reconnect, which very much affects the experience. What a waste of my money.

This dongle adapter has been such a great replacement to our previous set-up. It mirrors great, set-up/connection was easy, and we haven't had any issues with picture quality or connectivity. Like others have said, you can't stream using Netflix, Prime Video, or Hulu, but we were wanting it specifically for YouTube and our portable projector screen. Not having to use all the wires we were using before has also been a huge plus. We are really happy with this gadget and definitely recommend!
