5.0 out of 5 stars Elegant design
This feels and functions like a professional knife. This knife is heavier than most in its class but still very easy to use. Very sharp and easily cuts through delicate fruits and thick-skinned vegetables. Love the secure feel of the grip. Will be retiring my cheap paring knives which seem like toys compared to this one.

Very sharp knife, nicely balanced, well made, very please, a bargain for the price.
4.0 out of 5 stars So sharp I almost cut my pinky off on accident! Great knife!
We go through a LOT of paring knives in our house cutting up fruit, vegetables and fine cheeses on a daily basis. My go to paring knives have been relatively inexpensive IKEA or Rachel Ray knives (see side by side comparison pics). I thought they were sharp when I started using them...until I tried this knife. It is the sharpest paring knife I have ever owned! Cuts through cheese like it's nothing. Dicing tomatoes is almost effortless, so much so that you really do need to be careful not to hurt yourself, especially if you've been used to using cheaper or grocery store brand paring knives in the past like me. Make sure you use a cutting board and don't hold food while slicing it until you're really comfortable with this knife (or use a cutting glove)! My accident happened before I even started cutting food. I store my knives on a magnetic knife bar in my kitchen. Because I'm not used to having paring knives that weigh so much in the handle, when I pulled the knife off the bar, I wasn't gripping it tightly enough and the weight of the handle pulled it down through my hand before I knew what was happening. As it slid through my hand, the blade caught my pinky right in the center where it bends, opening up a deep cut. It even partially cut the tendon! It was just one of those freak accidents that happened because I wasn't used to having small knives with this amount of heft and this sharp of blades! My poor pinky is still recovering, but now that I have a healthy respect for this knife and more careful practice using it, I have to say I LOVE it!! The handle is easy to hold and grip and I like how sturdy it feels in my hand. The blade itself is gorgeous (with that lovely and distinct Damascus swirl pattern) and like I said, RAZOR SHARP!!! It's definitely my new favorite paring knife and I absolutely recommend it! The one issue I have is that it may be Japanese in style, but it almost feels like false advertising to call it a Japanese knife when it was made in China. That being said, I can't complain at all with the form and function and can definitely recommend this is you're serious about upgrading your paring knife situation. Be careful!! Hope this helps!

5.0 out of 5 stars Super sharp little knife! Cuts a tomato so easily!
The media could not be loaded. I always wanted a sharp small knife for my kitchen, and found this one a much cheaper alternative than the 旬 knife. It’s very small but super sharp. I will save it for thanksgiving to debone my turkey.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent knife. Razor sharp!
Like the small size for peeling and cutting. Very sharp blade. Cuts thru a steak like butter. Also like the look and feel of the knife in hand.
4.0 out of 5 stars This paring knife is made in China
Don't expect the fine quality of a Japanese-made knife. It does not have the nuances, nor the finesse, of a Japanese-made knife. Comparing a Shun paring knife with this one, well, it's like plucking an orchid blossom off the plant and trying to compare it to a faux orchid stem at your local hobby store. There's just no way. This is not a bad knife, but it is heavy for a paring knife. The blade is thick, so even when sharp, it drags as it cuts. It is not balanced well, either. It does have a pretty Damascus pattern.Letting the light catch the angle of the cutting edge, I saw that the sharpening of the blade was faulty and not precise. So, I'd advise resharpening it immediately. On the other hand, this knife is budget-friendly for it having a true Damascus pattern. If you can't bend your budget for a Japanese knife, this might be a nice way to start. At least it will give you experience with sharpening a blade. And setting eyes on a true Damascus pattern is an experience in itself and gives joy to the mundane job of food prep work.
5.0 out of 5 stars Well worth the money!!
