5.0 out of 5 stars High-quality, versatile lighting solution that balances performance with portability and ease of use
Unboxing the NEEWER FS150 LED Video Light was a straightforward affair. The packaging was efficient and functional, ensuring the product's safety without unnecessary embellishments. The light's compact size and lightweight design were immediately noticeable, promising portability and ease of setup for various applications.Key features that stand out include the 130W high-efficiency COB LED offering 102000lux/m illumination, precise PWM dimming technology, and the flexibility of 4 dimming types for tailored lighting conditions. The high CRI 97+ and TLCI 98+ ensure accurate color rendition, which is crucial for professional photography and video production. The inclusion of 9 special effects adds creative versatility to the light's capabilities.User-friendliness is evident in the light's design, particularly with the NEEWER APP and 2.4G wireless control, which simplify group control and setting adjustments. The 180° tilting stand mount adapter enhances positioning flexibility, allowing for optimal lighting setups. In performance, the FS150 exceeds expectations, delivering powerful, flicker-free illumination suitable for a wide range of creative needs. The light's ability to maintain a cool daylight color temperature and its compatibility with a variety of light shapers via the standard Bowens mount extend its utility further.Compared to similar products in the market, the NEEWER FS150 stands out for its combination of high illumination, precise control, and versatile functionality, all within a compact and portable form factor. While some competing products might offer additional features or variations in light quality, the FS150's balance of features and performance makes it a strong contender.Given its robust performance, comprehensive control features, and competitive pricing, the product offers excellent value for money. It's a sound investment for professionals and enthusiasts looking for a reliable, versatile lighting solution.Top positives include the light's high efficiency and brightness, precise dimming controls, wide range of effects, and the convenience of wireless and app-based controls. The dual power sources and the inclusion of a cable lock for secure power connection further enhance its utility.A potential downside could be the need for a separate purchase of a V mount battery for cordless operation, which might be a consideration for users requiring maximum portability. In summary, I recommend the NEEWER FS150 LED Video Light to photographers and videographers seeking a high-quality, versatile lighting solution that balances performance with portability and ease of use. It's particularly well-suited for those involved in studio production, live streaming, and on-location shoots who require precise control over their lighting environment.
5.0 out of 5 stars Bright light, well built and simple to use for creatives
The 130W Neewer COB Daylight output provides bright and consistent lighting for both video and photography. The 5600K color temperature ensures a natural daylight color temperature for lifelike results. The light comes with a nice carrying bag, a reflector, power cables, and a power brick with an XLR connection. This light, with its 130W output, is a great choice for portraits, main key light, product videography/photography, and more. It is perfect for interviews, YouTube/TikTok videos, live streaming, and studio production. I use it in my small home studio, and it provides more than enough light that I need. I usually keep it at no more than 50% brightness when using a softbox with a grid for talking-to-camera style content. The build quality is robust, and the light feels durable, making it a great choice to take on set without any worries. It's built like a tank with its metal design, and the weight is less than 4 pounds, making it super lightweight. The adjustment knobs are seamless to adjust, and the light can be dimmed from 1% to 100% in 1% increments. There are four lighting modes that can quickly dim the light to change the look and brightness. There are effect modes as well if you need them. The mount for this light is a standard Bowens mount, making it a great choice to attach lighting accessories since Bowens is widely accessible. The APP control feature adds a level of convenience that I truly appreciate. This way, if it's mounted on a light stand, I can easily make adjustments without changing the placement of the light. The fan has a smart function only powering on when needed at higher brightness but is super quiet, so you don't have to worry about noise being picked up in recording sessions. Even though it has an app, I love how simplistic the adjustments are on the back. Some cons, if I were being picky, include the cable, which could have been longer; it's long but not generous. It would be nice to include a mount to tie the big power brick to the light stand. However, considering its price, you will not have issues using this for your video and photo production.Neewer has been making great products for years, as I have a bunch of Neewer products, including sliders, and they all work well for budget pricing. Neewer has truly delivered a reliable and efficient lighting solution with the FS150. Highly recommended for content creators and photographers alike!
Very strong and sturdy
The light is very very strong and can light up a huge part of the party hall, I use the lantern Bowen mount cover to get the maxinum light out to shoot out events!I will definitely buy another one the coming months.
Excellent Quality.✅ Fan? What Fan? It’s So Quiet.🤫 Kelvin Levels Cannot Be Adjusted - 5600K.💡
The media could not be loaded. The Neewer brand is quite popular in our household. We have acquired and purchased MANY Neewer products for our studio. They have exceeded the industry standard, while not breaking the bank for value. I’ve never had an issue with anything so far over the course of a few years now. We were delighted to get our hands on the FS150 LED light. First thing that brought a smile to our face was the carrying case. Everything fits snug and all the inserts avoid anything from moving. The next surprise was the weight of the light. Grabbing it by the rear handle you can move it around with ease. The front has the versatile Bowens mount and the reflector clicks on and can be removed with no issues. When you turn on the light the fan noise is practically non existent. The rear controls are fairly basic giving you the ability to adjust brightness, dimming options and special effects. Personally I find the app more intuitive and you are able to have more control. The Neewer app will recognize your device quickly. Your first time using it will have a prompt to ask you to update your firmware. It only took us a few minutes and our light was updated! ✅WHAT I LIKE: ▪️Like all Neewer products, it is a high quality light. ▪️The Bowens mount is universal and great for attaching your accessories. ▪️It's phenomenal how quiet the fan spins. ▪️The brightness is fantastic, it lights up any room. ▪️The underside gives you the ability to slide a tripod onto the device. ( check out Neewers Bolo page if you need a tripod!). ▪️The app allows you to connect multiple devices and gives you greater control. ▪️The power cord is nice and long. They are also smart by adding a lock so your power cable does not accidentally fall out. ▪️You are able to link this camera with an array of lighting. You can setup channels and run it with a remote or the app. ❌WHAT I DON'T LIKE: ▪️The onboard controls on the light are basic, and not overly convenient. ▪️We are unable to adjust the 5600K🙁. Given the price point, I mistakenly assumed this light would be similar to my other Neewer light which has an amazing array of kelvin levels. I tried looking through the manual, YouTube, Onboard controls and App and couldn’t find anything that mentions the kelvins, so it safe to assume that 5600k is all you get. This is stated on the Bolo listing but I overlooked it and thought it went UP TO 5600k. Oopsie! I guess I was expecting more or really wanted more, because Neewer is known for outstanding options and price point. I am disappointed, but because it was my own silly assumption, I cannot hold it against Neewer. ▪️No cable management so you will need to be careful of tripping hazards. 🦋OVERALL:This is a great LED light that will enhance your video or photoshoots. It's difficult to find the right lighting but Neewer once again saves the day! We will be using this light in conjunction with our other lighting setup. We would recommend the FS150 for sure, and if this one isn’t your jam, Neewer offers other lights with kelvin level options. They are all truly awesome quality and best bang for your buck in the industry whether you’re a professional or beginner.

Whether I need a subtle fill light or a powerful key light, the FS150 delivers with precision and accuracy. With an impressive output of 102000lux/1m and a CRI (Color Rendering Index) of 97+, the FS150 produces stunningly vivid and natural-looking colors, ensuring that my subjects appear true to life in every frame.Furthermore, the FS150 offers 9 effects to add creative flair to my shots, including strobe, lightning, and candlelight effects. These effects allow me to experiment with different lighting styles and add visual interest to my projects. The Bowens Mount design provides compatibility with a wide range of light modifiers and accessories, giving me the flexibility to customize the light according to my creative vision. The inclusion of both 2.4G and APP control options adds convenience and versatility to the FS150. High quality light in convenient carry bag
This is a high quality light that reminds me of the professional video gear I used to use when I was in the broadcast industry (before LED and digital tech, so it's been awhile). The light, housing materials and the reflector are al excellent and feel good when handled. The light accepts Bowens mount modifiers and the included reflector is aluminum and again of good quality. The rear LED display is easy to read and the controls are straight forward and intuitive. The kit includes everything needed to use, carry and store the kit including the light body, reflector head, LED protection cap, power adaptor/cord, user manual and a convenient carry bag. You just need to add the light stand.I got this light to improve the quality of my still photography and YouTube videos. There are definitely some lighting effects that I likely will not use but others may find very useful, my videos are primarily DIY instructional type videos. I highly recommend getting a light stand or two with one of them being a C stand. I will be upgrading to a C stand in the near future as budgets are tight right now I modified an old halogen tripod stand to affix the FS150 to.The ability to dim the light enables me to use the light in different environments with different lighting needs. I will need to invest in another diffuser to aid in still photography but that's not the fault of the light but rather a testament to it's versatility and the Bowens mount makes it easy for me to use many different diffusers regardless of the manufacturer. Heat dissipation is excellent and the fan is not load at all.
Compact, constant 5600°K light.
The FS150 is a simple constant light unit that is a size of many 60W products but with much more power. It has the same remote connectivity (2.4 GHz, App) features as larger and more capable units in the Neewer line up. The reflector bowl is identical to the one supplied with the CB300B. The Bowens mount release is similar with a quiet, smooth slider. The display on this unit is very clear to read; high contrast and sharp characters. The FS150 is fixed at 5600°K but with that information being shown on the active display I kept being lured into trying to push buttons and turn the knob to change it. My bad - read the manual. That temperature is only slightly lower than the 5800°K I often work at but shouldn't be an issue.I gave the effects a quick run through but it's not something I use; adding effects while recording instead of later in editing. The power supply connects at both ends with plugs that are standards in electronics/computers so if one ever went missing you'd be able to round up a replacement. The hardware to mount on light stands is fixed into the base of the light. The spigot receiver has holes for both vertical and horizontal mating. The tightening lever is large and has the feature of allowing it to be pulled out, turned, and released to engage again in tight clearance situations. To repack the reflector and lamp in the case I found it best to push together the reflector, foam, and main body into an assembly and then push it down vertically as a unit into the foam cutout. The foam is a tight fit and was more of a struggle trying to return things to their place individually. The dedicated carry cases that Neewer is including with the lighting products is something I applaud. They are nice looking and encourage me to use them for storage and transportation more often.
