5.0 out of 5 stars Works great,
This is just what was advertised, this what we see but used a meat cleaver and tenderizer. Take a few bags to get the job set down. The grinding of ice is a little bit of a hassle. The effort is payed back by the smooth smoke. The idea of there is more surface area exposed to the hot smoke, this cools down the smoke In my opinion the effort of grinding ice is paid back in full by the cool smoke that is received by the smoker. One of the first things I did t the mallet is rub it down with a few coats of oil. I would very loosely rub down in. Oil wait 24=hours and do again , 3 times.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very durable
I use this to store my ice in ,& the wooden hammer makes it very convenient to break up the ice. Much better than my freezer bags

Now you can pummel that ice like Thor would! The mallet and bag are slightly smaller dimensions than some other brands in the same price range, but just very slightly, so that's probably mostly up to personal preference. This one is decent sized and you can crush enough ice for around 2 drinks at a time with no major inconvenience. (or 1 drink if you're doing something ice-heavy, like juleps.. the sweet spot is probably one standard freezer-tray of ice at a time)Mallet is good quality; I've swung it around pretty hard and I don't have any concerns about the head flying off or anything due to the way it is designed, and the bag is a decent weave and hasn't left any stray fibers in the end product. I've had it for several months now and have not experienced any tears or frays. The biggest problem is, if you sneak downstairs for a nightcap after everyone is asleep, you can't go bashing out your frustrations on the ice at 11:30 at night without people waking up and questioning your antics. But that is also not a product-specific issue and no fault of the bag or mallet. Easily fixable by a quick trip to the basement or garage.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great cocktail accoutrement.
Makes it easy to prepare ice in any crushed state.
1.0 out of 5 stars Bad bag!
Did not at all like the bag! It’s not sanitary to put ice in it!!!
5.0 out of 5 stars Works great!
Bag is a good size and mallet works great to crush ice.
3.0 out of 5 stars The mallet is a bit light, but works ok. Lewis bag is great.
Got to try this out for Derby Day Mint Juleps. Kit comes with a mallet and canvas Lewis bag. Put ice cubes in the bag, fold the top over, and crush it with the mallet. The canvas bag absorbs the water leaving nice crushed ice to use in drinks without being too watery. A must-have for mint juleps. The mallet is a big light... could use some extra heft to it, and it's completely unfinished and plain looking. I plan to put a coat of stain on it and maybe some boiled linseed oil, which should make it look much nicer.
Good purchase for home bartenders
Looks great on my bar and is a helluva lot of fun to use.
