    I used one of these to adapt a 1" iron fitting to 1/2" brass ball valve for a direct tap after my gas meter to feed a portable tri-fuel generator. When these arrived I found them to be cleanly cut and finished without any apparent defects. After fitting all the pieces together with PTFE tape and Teflon dope, I found no leaks anywhere in the work. That's about the most and the best you an ask from any fittings.

    These stainless hex nipples are much easier to install and remove than a standard "close" nipple. I can put a wrench on there and not damage the threads as with a "close" nipple. Plus this stainless hex nipple is a little thicker and stronger than a brass or even a galvanized fitting. These are worth the little bit of extra money.
