Reviewing Philips Avent Premium Connected Baby Monitor, This is an amazing baby monitor. Not only can I watch and hear what’s going on in my baby’s room, but I can track her sleep and breathing rate, and I can do it without needing to put any device on her! It keeps a 30-day diary so I can see trends which help me to know if something is normal or abnormal and gives me insights into the results. The display has a great quality picture and the setup on this unit was super easy. Anyone with or without tech experience will be able to set it up in no time. One note: You don’t need WIFI to see the video at home. Since Philips is a trusted brand and they use multiple layers of encryption, I trust this is a secure device that I don’t worry about having in my home.I am still getting used to the cry interpretation, but so far, it’s been accurate. It has been amazing me every day. I should note that I have 3 months to try it out for free, but after that, it requires a subscription to continue using this feature (via Zoundream).It has a room thermometer with alerts and a night light that you can configure. You can use it as a speaker to talk to your baby and you can record personalized sounds to play also. Or you can play one of the five included lullabies, the included peaceful/soothing sounds or white noise. There are plenty of options. It also has a background mode which is handy to save your phone battery so you can still hear the room while the phone is locked (or while you’re doing other things on your phone).We have it mounted on our baby’s crib, where she can’t get to it. It has an eco-mode which is handy, but I would be remiss if I did not point out that it ONLY runs on 2.4GHz, so if your wifi is 5GHz, you’ll need to check if your router is dual band and if so, set up the 2.5GHz channel. If it’s not dual band and is only 5GHz, you’ll need a new one that has 2.4 also. Also, keep in mind the fine print says Philips will offer software updates for 2 years after date of purchase. I don’t know if that means they will stop offering updates after two years, or if it is up to their discretion whether they continue to offer updates.All in all, this is an amazing device, and I don’t know how we ever got along without it. Technology has come so far and has made great strides in the last several years, but this one is truly a wonder since it helps keep our baby safe without us needing to hover around our baby’s room 24/7. We love it!!!

We just had our second little one recently and I have been tasked by the wife to get the nursery in order for our new bouncing baby boy. I have been on the lookout for a camera that I can attach to his crib and monitor not only him at night but more metrics as well. When I came across this particular camera that popped up in my feed, I knew this would make a nice addition to my nursery setup.The camera itself is perfect for our needs. You can either mount the camera to the wall or the crib. I choose to use the crib mount since that seems a little more practical for me. The mount is solid and I am confident it will not fall or break. The camera itself gives off a stunning clear picture of our little one at night while he is sleeping, but what I really loved most about this product was the app features. There are so many features you can do with the camera once connected to the app. You can get notifications if the baby is crying, play him music and so much more. It really is a smart all-in-one product and helps us with our own sleep as well since we can monitor everything from the comfort of our bed or where ever we are in the house from our smartphone.

The media could not be loaded. I have used other monitors that work well, but had limitations, like music sounded mechanicalWhen I saw this one by Phillips I assumed it would be good quality and I was right. My pictures do not do the monitor justice. I have a 2600 sq foot ranch with a lot of brick walls, but even when monitor and camera are at opposite ends the image is crisp and the music is clear. There are a selection of lullabies to choose from or you can record your own. I especially like that you can use without wifi. The controls are logical and I was able to set up easily without instructions. The downside is to use the monitoring of crying and breathing you have to use wifi. Also the app is only free for 90 days and afterwards you have to pay for it. The nice thing is you can monitor breathing without having to attach anything to the baby. It is worth it for me to pay for the app especially for the first year. I tried to research cost of zoundreams monitoring service and appears to be about $ 4.50/month so not bad. I personally think this set up is well worth the price.

Nice setup here. I love the camera mount/pole which gives a lot of flexibility with positioning. This can be used without wifi but you give up some features. I couldn't find what protocols are used from camera to monitor when not using WIFI. There was nothing in the manual. Maybe it's proprietary. The SenseIQ features are cool. The cry detection and translation requires Wifi though. It is also only free for 3 months and then it's subscription based. Worth noting.

The cry detection and translating feature is really helpful too, and the video quality is clear both day and night. I really appreciate that this baby monitor gives me the option to use it with or without Wi-Fi. Privacy is a big concern for me, so it’s reassuring to know that I can rely on the Wi-Fi when needed but also have the ability to use it offline for added peace of mind. It makes me feel more secure knowing that it's less likely for anyone to snoop through the internet. I really love this camera. it has so many premium features. you can use the screen or your phone to view the camera. it detects when the baby breaths to mke sure that the baby is safe and healthy. it has alerts and 2 way sounds. i love it. wish they had these when my older kids were babies. it would have made things so much easier.
