It is heavy and the weight holds the pad firmly in place on my shoulders. With the snap closed on the neck, the warmth on the back of my neck feels great. There is a tie to hold it closed and closer to your back while using it.The pad heats up quickly. There are 6 heat settings ranging between 110 degrees up to 150 degrees. Also you can set a timer ranging from 30 to 90 minutes. It then auto shuts down.The cord is 7 feet long, and this heating pad doesn't charge up. So you will be tied to the electrical outlet while using it. But for the great warmth that you get from this heating pad, the inconvenience of not being able to walk around isn't that big of a deal for me.The pad itself is plush, like a high quality bath robe. It is very soft to the touch.The pad itself is machine washable, but it is suggested not to do that often. Never dry it in the dryer, hang it over a clothesline or shower rod until it is completely dry. Do not use if it is damp.I suffer with back, neck and shoulder pain and this is so nice to use just before bed. I can sit and watch TV and relax while this pad relieves my pain. Then it is simple to take off, untie the belt, unsnap the neck closure and remove. I hang it over a chair and it is ready to go the next day. It is suggested not to fold it up so the wires do not get damaged. Draping it over the chair seems like a safe bet.If I needed another heating pad like this, I would definitely order it again. I am very happy with how well it works.

This is a super soft extra-large sized heating pad which has been used daily by my broad shouldered better half. With neck and shoulder tightness, this pad has been very helpful. It heats up fairly quickly and the temperature adjustment is very effective. The time works well and is accurate at timing 30-60-90 minute usage windows. This is a large pad, so it's a bit oversized on me (female/wears size M tops), but fits my hubs very nicely (male/wears size XL tops). Would make a great gift for someone who has everything.

This is a wonderful therapy item because it provides coverage of the entire back as well as the neck and shoulders. The generous size will accommodate larger body types, too. The material is super soft and cozy, and it is very soothing to wear. The heating pad is weighted which helps keep it in place, and there is also a neck snap that keeps it around your neck and prevent it from sliding off. There is a waist belt that can be tied to give the heating pad a more wrapping embrace while wearing, so it does a nice job of providing full back coverage.The heating pad offers six levels of heat ranging from 100 degrees F to 150 degrees F in 10 degree increments, and it's easy to adjust. The lighted LED display is easy to read, and it shows the temperature in real time as it's heating up. It reached its peak temperature within two minutes, so it was quick to heat up. There is also a timer that can be set for 30/60/90 minutes before shutting off, and the default setting is 60 minutes.This is a very suitable option for anyone with chronic back pain or even someone who just suffers from occasional pain. It would also be nice for an elderly person who just likes to have a heating pad for aches and pains. With the holidays approaching, this would make a nice gift idea.

I got this heating pad after the one that I had suddenly died on me. I like a larger size heating pad that can cover a large part of my body. My physical therapist told me that I carry a lot of tension in my shoulders and back, so I have been trying to work on keeping them relaxed (which is also hard to do when you are in pain. I like that this one can be worn across the back and fastened at the neck, almost like a cape. It has 6 levels of heat so there are a lot of options in terms of degree of warmth. The fabric is soft and moves with your body, so it is very comfortable. It has a 7-foot cord so there is a lot of room to move around. This pad very much meets my needs for heat and comfort.

I really like the size of this heat pad, it almost feels like a blanket. It's very soft, and feels really comfortable when covering my back, even without cloth in between. I really like the 7-foot power wire which is plenty for me to plug into the outlet even with the outlet that's completely behind the couch. I also like the temperature settings on this, it's very detailed and doesn't increment too much between each setting. It helps gradually increase/decrease the temperature to help relaxing the muscle. It also heat up fairly quick which is impressive for this size of heat pad. Timer is nice and almost feels like a must have feature since I feel every time, I use this, it's a very relaxing feeling, and I almost fell asleep every time, so having a timer to know when to stop for safety reason. Big heat pad with good features.

The RENPHO King Size Heating Pad for Back Pain Relief came well packaged in a neat carton which is worthy of gifting. Reason I indicate is because some of the products come in plain ziplock bags and not in retail packaging.The pad heats up very fast and you have heat levels as indicated in the hand held controller. The unit needs to be plugged into an electric outlet. The cord is sufficiently long.The material of the pad is very soft and silky. It wraps around well and the added weight of the pad gives a good feeling.The neck does not warm up much and that was one of my issues. It does not do much for neck or shoulder pain. The back warms up well and I wore a thin t-shirt during the use.
