Worked very well on our camping trip, top part of the blade slightly rolled a bit however. This doesn't matter as it was the user who caused it, which is me, and I accept total responsibility for the slight damage. Sheath on the other hand is incredibly cheap, and had a button loose on the belt sling. Which is not too big of an issue for me because i do not wear it on my belt, but it still doesn't inspire my faith for how long the rest of it will last. Aside from the complains, the handle is very comfortable and the metal is very well finished and quite nice looking. I also used this hatchet as a hammer to jam steaks down into relatively rocky earth, which it was excellent at. For the price, you cant complain too much, and I would recommend these hatchets to anyone who doesn't want to break the bank for a useful tool.

For first impression review I am very satisfied. I've been doing batoning with a BK2 knife to split fire wood in the past but it's very troublesome so I decide to buy an axe for the task. This is my first axe so I am not an axe expert. First impression it feels good on hand from the smooth ergonomic handle. Edge came sharp out of the box. The sheath is flimsy so I wouldn't carry on it for safety precaution, just use it for edge protection. After comparing varies Axe on Bolo this is a pretty good deal, and even comes with a sharpening stone.

This looks and feels as if it were created by the hands of a benevolent deity. In fact I think I shall buy another, just in case!In a way it's a bit like Mary Poppins, "...practically perfect in every way" (...sorry, the wife made me say that. It's her favorite movie).

It just awesome.
Nice looking axe, seems pretty well made.
I haven't used it yet but there are a few things I feel are worth noting. 1) The axe cover doesn't seem to be leather and seems cheaply made ( so I plan on making one). 2) The blade edge is quite dull so will need sharpening. 3) Where steel meets handle - also where you would grab hold of to choke up there is a very sharp area of steel that if a person was anaware or careless could be scraped pretty bad - this same area however I fee can be put to good use for striking a fire steel. All in all I really do like the axe. Handle is nice and seems well made with head well seated. I am going to sand handle a little finer though then recoat handle with boiled linseed oil. Hope that helps someone.

Looks to be a half decent little axe.
Must read - useful camping tool
This is a very useful tool for the backcountry camping. I spent a few days in Algonquin provincial park for the backcountry camping without any water and electrical. I used this axe for the most of the firewood collection in the forest. The axe is well made with durable material. It is comfortable to hold and chopping the wood was not a hard job at all. I recommend it.
