5.0 out of 5 stars Harder than it looks!!
When I initially opened this package, I was upset. The ad on Bolo stated that the puzzle was for ages 6-13, but the box clearly stated that it was for 3 years and up! (See side by side pictures.) To some people that might not matter, but I don’t know many 6-13 years olds who want to be given a game that says it’s for toddlers! And what would make it even worse is that it’s hard to solve!!So I initially intended to deduct at least a star, but that was before my 12 year old honor student granddaughter and I played with it!!It comes with 50 different puzzle cards that show you the starting position of the colored blocks. Then you have to slide the blocks around (without picking them up off the game board) until the large red block gets to a specific location on the board. And it’s not as easy as it sounds! The puzzles get more difficult as you go and it actually took me a few minutes to solve game #1! So I can’t imagine how they thought that this game could be for a 3 year old, unless the toddlers just play with the wooden blocks. There’s no way a toddler could even understand how to strategically play the game! When I was little, we’d get little plastic games similar to these, but this one is MUCH nicer! The blocks are smooth and easily move over the base, plus it has a location to store the game cards. This is a lot of fun, and I definitely recommend it for 8 year olds through adults!
4.0 out of 5 stars Simple, satisfying puzzle game
Simple but satisfying puzzle for all ages. Kids can understand the concept by preschool age, and adults can enjoy the game as well. A great unplugged way to pass some time.Small plexiglass window at the top holds the deck of double sided cards. Choose one to show a starting layout, arrange blocks to match the card, then slide the blocks around until you are able to move the red one to the designated space.Would be five stars if the cards were a little higher quality (a few are flawed from being cut out imperfectly from the background material). The Review box is prompting me to say something about portability. This game could be very portable with some kind of cover to keep the blocks in place and keep the cards from falling out. A drawstring bag of some kind or nice storage box would work as well. As is, you only get the cardboard product box, which isn’t very durable or eye catching. It’s the style with a tuck in flap. Those don’t last as long, in my experience. Out of the box, the puzzle needs to be stored flat on a shelf to avoid losing pieces.
5.0 out of 5 stars Many levels of challenge
I mentioned in a previous review that I purchased two different types of puzzles for my grandsons to take on a long road trip. I reviewed the first puzzle and this is the second one. It was a big hit with both boys, aged 7 and 9. There are cards provided that start with 1 as the simplest and then progresses up in difficulty with each number increase. The 7 year old immediately took to the puzzle and kept playing with it up to number 11 card when he had to put it away. He tried to skip 3 and 5 but I suggested he keep trying those before progressing to the higher numbers. He did that and felt really good about himself when he succeeded unaided. He gets frustrated easily so I was impressed by the amount of concentration and determination he showed with this game. I forgot to mention that the objective is to arrange the pieces as shown on the card and get the large red square back to its position.
3.0 out of 5 stars It is okay
It is a nice product, but the instructions for it's use aren't really that good.
5.0 out of 5 stars Challenging and fun!
My kids (10-20) have all had fun playing this game. It’s challenging but not so difficult that it’s stress inducing! It’s also portable, which means we were able to pack it on a vacation and have a non electronic toy for downtime that Everyone could use! I’d give this as a gift or would buy it again- totally worth it.
4.0 out of 5 stars Cute
This is sort of a real life version of an casual "app game."The game needs to be flat while being played and stored since the pieces don't attach or stick to the board. The wooden pieces slide easily. The cards in the top do not come in order, and they are also facing different directions. Since the instructions indicating moving up levels, and the cards are numbered, it seems logical to sort and order them before playing. The front of the card holder/display has a small cutout to allow for easy removal of the cards. The back of the holder does not-- this makes placing the used cards at the back difficult. There are only three types of blocks - 1x1, 2x1, and 2x2. But, the various setups can still be enjoyable for people of many ages, although it will likely get boring for older kids and adults after just a few rounds
5.0 out of 5 stars INTERESTING
This Super Slide Puzzle Game is interesting. It is larger that the ones that were circulating when I was a child. Children are drawn to puzzles like this. This game is brightly colored and well made. It should last a very long time with the heavy wooden pieces. This would be a great game for a classroom or a home. It's a great brain teaser.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fun
I got the lower level one by accident and it was too easy for a 5 year old. I like how well made this is and the vibrant colors of the blocks. This is a great product, I’d suggest going up in age to get the most out of it.
