5.0 out of 5 stars Nice!!
Works great for the price. Had the same experience with this as I did with a more expensive one.
3.0 out of 5 stars its just ok
In the photos it looks like a very well made sturdy, tough, strong meat grinder. It works in a pinch but you won't be pushing a lot of meat through this one. Its got a lot of cheap parts and given the feel a build of it, I'm not sure how long I'd trust the motor.
5.0 out of 5 stars Electric, enough said
This worked exceptionally well and I highly recommend it.
4.0 out of 5 stars I use this primarily to grind chicken breast into ground chicken
This unit is pretty nice, as I only tend to grind lighter meats, like chicken breast,It is relatively easy to clean and many of the parts can be put in the dishwasher.Storage is a little bit of an issue as this is a relatively tall unit and takes up a lot of vertical space in the cabinet for me.I am able to grind speed, and if I want a finer grind, I can run the Meet through two times.
3.0 out of 5 stars Too much cheap plastic
I am an avid sausage maker and I have a good grinder so I know what good is. This grinder is usable and it gets three stars for being able to grind meat. But it is made of cheap plastic and in some of the most important parts (like the gear drive housing... see third picture). With the torque applied in grinding meat and fat, this nylon/plastic part is not good enough. The finish work on the aluminum parts is poor. In the pictures I tried to show the cut marks on the edge of the meat tray and the gouges in the feeder tube and the auger. The name of the game for sausage is cold, clean, recipe and good ingredients. With all those notches and divots, keeping this thing clean will be a little harder. The grinding plates are a bit thick but they do fit and the blade is sharp and fits snuggly on the auger. The manual is poorly written and uses the same pictures for how to use the sausage stuffing attachments as it does for the grinder. The stuffing tube and the guide plate are both cheap and thin nylon/plastic as is the meat stuffer. Also useless is the little bottle brush which is too big to clean the holes in the grinding plates and too small to clean the feed tube.As for the operation of the grinder, it is loud and the motor tends to rock inside a little. It grinds at a medium speed and only has one speed plus reverse. It hunkered down when being fed reasonably sized piece of pork shoulder but actually did quite well. But the grinder should not have a swaying motion and this portends a future disaster depending on how many nylon/plastic parts are inside the plastic casing. This product works, but has a lot of drawbacks. I would keep looking.
2.0 out of 5 stars Not stainless steel, Not Dishwasher safe
The media could not be loaded. Pros:- Fast- Does a fair job of grinding the meat- Reverse Function for jams- Cord tucks into base of the unitCons:- Not a single piece of stainless steel (despite claims)- Hand wash & dry only- Extremely loud (see/hear video)- 2 plates are regular steel, the third is plastic- Single speed- Small feeder tube inlet (1.25")- TOO fast- It is a fingerprint magnet (for those who like to keep their appliances on the counter) Even with having all the meat pre-cut it is almost impossible to keep up with the grinder. The feeder tube hole is smaller so there is only so much you can feed it at one time. I've tested and nothing is stainless or dishwasher safe and that is because it is made of cast aluminum and steel. The manual actually states in ALL CAPS that it is NOT dishwasher safe, and to IMMEDIATELY hand wash AND hand dry (because it rusts). This will get the job done but there are better options- get the meat grinder attachment for your mixer if you have the option.I hope that helps.
