5.0 out of 5 stars Another excellent keyboard!
This a pretty satisfying keyboard to use. The typing experience is very pleasant, both feel and sound. The keycaps and switches give a nice thick thock, and the feel is very smooth. The linear Flying Fish switches seem to be rated at about 45 g of force, which is nice and light for quick movements. The colors on the keys and board are very nice, the gradient being an excellent touch. The wireless through the included dongle is responsive, and seems to have good battery life. You can always extend that by turning off the LED backlighting, and the keycaps serve well for that use as well. I don't have bluetooth on my PC to test, but the wireless performance gives me confidence that the bluetooth is likely done well.
4.0 out of 5 stars a very capable keyboard
this keyboard works very well for a keyboard if you are just looking for something that looks nice and works well..... but if you are looking for something that sounds good out of the box (there are lots of options in this price range that really do sound great out of the box) this is not that..... i think it has a lot of potential to be a really nice keyboard but the keys are not that nice clacky sound or a good thocky sound..... they are more clacky but are also kind of tin like sounding..... not my favorite sound i have had from a keyboard... it is possibly the sound that someone is looking for but my personal taste is not this..... maybe some simple mods could make it a little better.... and like i mentioned other than the sound it is a very soilid keyboard..... i really do like everything else about it.... so i am only dock 1 star for the sound ..... ( the price is slightly high for what it is but i see that they also run sales on this model and the sell price is about where this keyboard should be priced)
Excellent.
The media could not be loaded. I'm yet to be disappointed in an Ajazz keyboard, but this one might be my favourite out of all I have ever owned. The build quality is excellent, while it's not a metal build, the plastic is thick and strong feeling, with the board only having a very slight amount of flex to it when specific pressure is applied. The sound of the keyboard is great, and while it would be hard to describe such a thing, I did my best to record it for you in the video attached to the review. The tri-mode functionality is great. Being able to switch between USB, 2.4 GHz and BT is always a plus for any keyboard, and the connectivity of this one works great. While both 2.4GHz and BT are obviously going to be higher latency than USB, the latency in general is quite low and the keyboard is more than suitable for gaming. It is important though that you get the driver for the keyboard off of the Ajazz Website, as this allows you to set the polling rate of the keyboard higher (1 is the lowest, it defaults to 2) if you want absolutely minimal latency. The driver is of course also important for other functions like button mapping and macro recording, but the most critical function of it for me (who rarely uses things like alternate button maps and macros) is the fact that without the driver, the keyboard will not properly save your lighting options. So long as it's in the same mode, it will stay, but if you say switch from USB to 2.4GHz, without the software, it will set the lighting back to default and you'll have to fiddle with it again. Installing the software resolves this problem, naturally. When you install it, you might find that there is no text on a lot of the menus, this is because you probably don't have the text fontpack for the language installed on your computer so instead it just appears blank. Just hit the option cog at the bottom, click on the first dropdown box and set it to english, and this should resolve the problem for you.The default lighting options are fairly varied and rather nice looking. I got the purple style, and I found the 'Glittering' option with the sort of lilac purple color (the last one on the default list) looked extremely nice. I did have troubles with the "User Lighting" section of the keyboard's software, which appears to be entirely non functional.. But in the software's list of defaults are all capable of further customization, so the purposes of the User Lighting section is beyond me. Perhaps it is for if you want to set each key's lighting individually. This isn't a drawback for me, but if this is an important function for you that might be worth keeping in mind. It's possible, however, that I am doing something wrong that is leading to my issues with this portion of the software. It's not an issue, for me, worth taking a star off for, at any rate.Outside of that small bug, I've had absolutely no problems when it comes to the functionality of this keyboard. I'm not an expert on switches, but the flying fish linears are rather nice, with a lighter-than-average actuation force that has them feeling extremely responsive. It doesn't take a lot to activate them at all, and while I am a very heavy typer in general, a lighter typer would have absolutely no problems with them. They're not the most sensitive switches I've played with, of course, but they'll do you absolutely great for any gaming or typing applications, I think. The keycaps on this are nice. They're PBT, and very well cast. They (on the purple model) are completely opaque, however, the text does not light up, so if you were looking for that you would need to get a new set. The south-facing LEDs would make this ideal for any side-printed keycaps, though, so the keyboard is a great option for those (and the blue version does appear to be set up that way, so that one is probably even more excellent).Overall, I love this keyboard. It sounds very nice and it's extremely high quality. The connectivity works great (which is the thing I'm always most worried about with wireless products) and I had no issues when it came to the functionality of it. And so I can do nothing but give it a full recommendation.
