5.0 out of 5 stars Great price
Product is good for the price. Customer service was great. Replaced the clip that broke for me. Sound is good. If you ride a harley this isnt the one for you. Any other bike you can hear clearly.Con is the last called option. Accidentally tap the call button twice and you call whoever you called last. Cant disable that.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good sound for the price
I was afraid that the speakers would be too quiet, but they push sound pretty darn well. The bass lacks a little bit, but the sound quality is good. The radio feature is nice, but it's clumsy to cycle stations one frequency at a time. Synced easily with my phone. Did not test the intercom or the microphone features, so I can't speak to their function, but a good value for the money.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great product
the quality is really good in every aspect my friend was the one that recommended this for me since I just started to get into riding and it didn’t disappoint. He even offered to ship another mic at no extra cost when I didn’t had a complain. Will definitely be recommending it to other friends
5.0 out of 5 stars A Nice Helmet Bluetooth Headset
The GEARELEC Motorcycle Helmet Bluetooth Headset is a nice kit. To me, it appears to be a quality item. The fit and finish is great. The kit is very complete. The instructions are good. All the hardware is good.I ordered this for use with a 3M SpeedGlas helmet -- part of a PAPR system used for applications such as welding or grinding.PAPR stands for Powered Air Purifying Respirator. The PAPR system uses forced air induction and you hear a fan noise all the time. When you need to communicate and everyone is wearing PAPR helmets, it can be hard to hear (especially if machinery is also running). However, it's not as big a challenge as communicating while riding a motorcycle. So this kit should be able to overcome the noise of a PAPR system easily.A PAPR helmet is full-face and generally has a face shield not unlike a motorcycle helmet. (Some have hardhats too, but most are not mean to absorb impacts -- just keep harmful dust and/or chemicals out of your lungs.) All the components of the GEARELEC Motorcycle Helmet Bluetooth Headset mount in the same positions in my 3M SpeedGlas helmet as they would in a motorcycle helmet.I have not evaluated any of the competitors to this GEARELEC product, but I can say that the mounting pieces in this kit are great, especially the helmet clip. It's all very well thought out and executed well. This whole thing is an ongoing experiment. I will update this review once I know for sure how this is going to work out in various situations. (That will take a while, and you know how Bolo is with metrics, so I could not wait that long to post this review.) However, I have seen enough already to be impressed with the GEARELEC headset. It exhibits quality in every way.I have two different SpeedGlas helmets, both part of PAPR systems and over the next few weeks or months I'll be trying this in both helmets.
3.0 out of 5 stars It's okay
It's good for what it is, however the sound quality is very staticy. The battery life is very fair for the pricepoint. The connection tends to drop frequently, or when going over any bumps in the road. Overall it's a decent unit for the price, but personally I would recommend saving for a better one that will last long term
5.0 out of 5 stars Best Motorcycle Headset I've tested!
I've tested about 9 different pairs of motorcycle headsets. These are by far my favorite so far. The audio quality is great and so are the features. It's easy to install into my helmet and performs better than I expected.
4.0 out of 5 stars Does not pair with some other brands
*Edited and star rating increased* Received this as part of the Vine program for testing. As an individual inexpensive bluetooth communicator, the GEARELEC Shark is a decent option. It's loud, you should have no issue hearing. It did connect by bluetooth to my phone (Pixel 6 pro) and 2 other phones (Galaxy S23, iPhone 15) without issue. Speakers are a little distorted at louder volumes, but the audio quality at regular levels is fine.Unit is a little bigger than expected, but not too bad.The bad:The first unit I received would not pair with any other. After my original review, customer service reached out to me, and were absolutely amazing. If you have any issues, reach out to them first before posting a review. When I say they went out of their way to help, it's not an exaggeration. It was real customer service. After some good troubleshooting, they sent me a new unit. The original one would not pair with the new unit, confirming I received a defective one. Here's the bad:Cannot connect to some other Bluetooth communicator units. Tried pairing to a Cardo packtalk Bold (mine), Sena S10, and a Freecom (Both belonging to friends) . Made multiple attempts and was not successful in pairing with the Cardo Packtalk bold, or the Sena S-10. It did connect to the Freecom and a generic no name cheap bluetooth intercom. If you have a cardo or sena, this may not be the unit to have as an intercom for your passenger. This will also NOT pair with bluetooth GPS units like Garmin Zumos. Per customer service, it is not compatible with the Garmin Zumo.If all you need is a stand alone bluetooth helmet device for listening to music, getting phone directions, and making phone calls, this is a good cheap deal. Get 2 and talk to your passenger or give to a friend to use while riding. If you want to communicate with other riders that have non-same brand bluetooth intercom communicators, you may get mixed results.Since it won't pair with my Cardo and had customer service not been so excellent, I'd have kept the 2 star rating. As a stand alone item I give this 4 stars. If it was an option I would up it to 4.5 stars.
5.0 out of 5 stars Two way is cool
Having the ability to talk to another device is probably the best feature. When you need the ability to talk to another person without using your phone as a medium for short distances like on a road, this is a great device to have. The buttons are big enough to figure out when you can't see them. This allows you to talk, listen to music, and connect to your phone.
