I saw these fire blankets advertised everywhere and think they’re a great idea. Having them close to the stove in the kitchen or a fireplace makes them handy for any fire emergency. They work by smothering out the flames when you cover the fire; much cleaner than using a fire extinguisher that creates a mess when sprayed on the flames. Just be careful to avoid handling or breathing in the fiberglass fibers if possible. If you can, use gloves when handling this blanket. It’s reusable if not damaged by flames. I didn’t try it on a large fire, but did try to light it with a lighter; it did not ignite or leave any burn marks. Definitely worth having in your kitchen.

I'm so glad I haven't needed to use it. I was persuaded to purchase one by the advertisement I saw. After looking it over, I made the decision to buy a pair for each of my kids and two other family members as Christmas gifts. I then made the quick decision to distribute them. If they needed a fire blanket, I wouldn't want it in MY closet. I also handed each person a blanket for their vehicle!

The media could not be loaded. PLEASE DON’T pull these out of the bag the way the guy did in the product page video. Fiberglass hurts when handled without gloves. If you do get it on your hands and it’s irritating them, use apple cider vinegar to help get rid of the sting and the discomfort. In an emergency, obviously you’re not going to have protective gloves on, so you’ll have to just be careful and prioritize making sure the fire is put out, but if you’re just testing the blanket, put gloves on (like the ones he’s using later in the video).That said, these work well enough, although it’s not an immediate smothering of the flames. After testing one, I do feel confident about keeping them in the kitchen though, just in case.There are a lot of options to choose from with these fire blankets and these are not the cheapest, but they’re not the most expensive either. Mid-range as far as price and decent quality.

Convenient well made. Nice addition or alternate to fire extinguishers. Easy to use. I placed mine in the kitchen, but not directly next to the stove. I placed it about six feet away from the stove so I can get it from an affected area. It gives me some peace of mind knowing I have this nearby. We have accidentally left on a burner more than once. Accidents happen so it's good to be prepared. Fire extinguishers expire and in a panic can be hard to start. Not an issue with a blanket. It can save your home.
