5.0 out of 5 stars Impeccable Quality!
I am fortunate enough to have All Clad cookware, but I needed a large pot with a strainer to make stock and use for water bath canning. This is it!!! So glad I found it! I got the 16 quart size and am simmering chicken stock as I type this! First, the pot was packaged to perfection. There wasn’t a mark on it! And…it is beautiful to say the least. The pot’s handles are that of their D5 line, of which I love because they are easy to grip and carry! Then the strainer has three raised sections to stabilize while in the water. There are capacity markings inside of the pot itself as well. So my experience thus far has been nothing but positive! It appears to boil and simmer evenly, and it looks so dang pretty on my stove! I’m in absolute love and glad I bought it!
5.0 out of 5 stars Great Size, Better Quality
I purchased this to cook pasta and to poach chicken breasts (to keep around for recipes). I replaced an 8-quart pot, which was too big for everyday cooking, and replaced another brand of stainless steel Dutch oven because, even at medium heat, the other stainless steel pot deteriorated and left pock marks on the bottom. This size is perfect. It handles medium to medium-high heat without damage. The strainer on the lid is a great idea, although it took a little getting used to turning (instead of lifting) it on and off. This is the second All-Clad pot I purchased, and the quality is superior to that of the other name brand I've owned. I am happy to give it five stars. Thank you.
5.0 out of 5 stars As usual, the best.
I am an All-Clad devotee as it has, in all of its varied versions, consistently well. I have to admit that this strainer top version is a revelation. No more steamy colander transfers; and no more sticky colander to wash. An unquestionable advance in the kitchen. Also, this pot is lighter than my All-Clad pans, which is convenient, and it performs well on an induction burner. Highest Marks.
5.0 out of 5 stars I love it!
I have all clad only! It took me awhile to purchase these. They are expensive but I use all my all cladEvery day! It holds up very well. I love just looking at it never mind cooking with it! LOL!!!Sincerely, sharon
4.0 out of 5 stars Measures up to the All-Clad name, with the nice ability to safely drain
I have several All-Clad pieces, so I had very high expectations for this. It definitely lives up to the hype. The pot itself is a good weight, and holds heat well. The 6 qt size is perfect for many applications. The lid is very interesting. It can just sit on top of the pot, but when you are ready to drain, it twists on in a certain way to lock so that you don't have to hold it on while you drain. I do wish there was an option to buy a lid for this pot without the holes so I could do more with this pot (thus the four stars instead of five). That being said, I can work around it with other lids, it's just not meant to be used that way. Overall, if you are looking for a drainable pot like this, HIGHLY recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very easy to use
Excellent
5.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy and Solid
I've been needing to upgrade my main cooking pot to something more substantial to accommodate meals for our large family and was really excited to order this 12 qt one with strainer insert. This set is very sturdy and a great quality! This style of lid (flat, metal) has never been my favorite as they seem to rarely sit flush or snug on the pot, but that is not the case with this set. The lid is heavy, flat and sits perfectly on both the strainer insert and the stockpot itself. The handles for the lid, strainer and pot are all thick and sturdy and very well secured on.The stockpot portion is slightly taller than it is wide but not so much as to make it difficult to stir contents of the pot or reach the bottom. My sort of small, electric stovetop does struggle to bring this pot to a boil due to the size and weight of it, but that's the fault of the stove, not the pot (it boils just fine on my large, propane burner). The strainer insert has taken a bit of getting used to for me. I like that the holes in the bottom portion of it are small, allowing for optimal straining of a wide variety of foods, while the holes in the top portion are much larger, allowing boiling water to circulate back through them. If using the insert for steaming, there's a line inside the stockpot to indicate the maximum amount of water to add before you set the insert in. For boiling with the insert, I put the insert into the pot first so I can see how deep the water is with the displacement of the insert. Once the water starts to boil, it will rise between the 2 pots and circulate back through those larger, top holes. This always makes me a little nervous because it looks like the water is going to boil up and out the sides. The insert does have a sort of lip that almost seals between the strainer and stockpot so that may not be a concern, just something to get used to.Overall, this is a substantial and sturdy set that I expect will last for many years. It is thick and solid and has no warping or defects. (Don’t mind the sort of tarnished look in the photos, my pre-teens are just sketchy dish-washers).
