5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for Console & Future Upgrades!
I recently migrated to a console only setup instead of a PC, and I still wanted to have clear audio for my friends online and potentially streaming. The K668 seemed to have fit the bill in almost every way.Build Quality and Design:The K668 sports a sleek and compact design, making it a great addition to any desktop setup. The metal construction feels durable, which is surprising given its affordability. The shock mount included is stable, although it does feel a bit lightweight due to it being plastic.Sound Quality:For a budget microphone, the K668 delivers clear and crisp audio. During my testing, I found the sound capture to be quite accurate, with minimal background noise. It's perfect for podcasting, voice-overs, and even casual music recording. The mic monitoring for console was my favorite feature, as I can now hear myself scream at my friends on discord, and the knobs can let me turn the gain down if I get too shrill.Ease of Use:Setting up the K668 was a breeze. It’s a plug-and-play device that worked seamlessly with my PS5. No need for drivers or complex setups, which is a huge plus for beginners or those who are not tech-savvy. If you have a mixer, this also takes an XLR input for a more complex setup, the plug and play was the best way in my opinion.Value for Money:The standout feature of the K668 is its price. It offers quality sound and build at a fraction of the cost of higher-end microphones. For content creators on a budget, this is a solid investment that won’t break the bank. I’ve even owned an SM7B and the amount of sound quality you get for a fourth of the price is astounding. Conclusion:The K668 microphone is an excellent choice for anyone starting in content creation or needing an affordable upgrade from their current setup. While it’s not perfect, its pros far outweigh the cons, making it a fantastic value-for-money option. Highly recommended for budget-conscious creators looking for quality audio.
5.0 out of 5 stars This Mic is PERFECT for Creators
I must say, when buying microphones like this, I'm always weary of the low price tag as many times "cheap = junk". This is NOT the case for the FIFINE K688, as you would quite literally never know this was a cheap microphone if you saw it sitting on someone's desk without content. I've tried out multiple microphones throughout my tenure, and constantly strive to find the next best option, and I think this one might be it. The arm itself isn't the sturdiest, so I'm not sure how it may hold up longevity wise, and I wish maybe it had a track for hiding wires, but man, it gets the job done. Price wise, no complaints here, I feel like I certainly got my monies worth and then some. They could easily sell this for 50% more than the current price, and people, it would STILL be a bargain. If you're looking for a high quality, premium sounding microphone for streaming, podcasting, YouTube videos- this is the one.
4.0 out of 5 stars Very decent Mic for the price
I test and own many microphones and I can say this one is quite respectable for its price range for what you get. Being it's a dynamic microphone it has very good room or noise rejection as well as has a great proximity effect that gives you that deep broadcast sound voice when you get close to it. The added versatility of being both in XLR as well as USB microphone is quite impressive for less than $100. The boom armor comes with is not very good when moving up and down vertically because unlike most boom arms it does not work off weight because the Fifine k688 is so light. Moving the boom arm horizontally it works just fine and as long as you pick the place where you want it vertically first. The downside of this microphone is for some people the proximity effect may be too boomy / too muddy in the low end. The other issue I heard in this microphone is it seems to have a nasally sound to it in the upper mid frequencies, but all in all for the price this really isn't that bad.
5.0 out of 5 stars sounds great!
Worth every penny. The Boom arm is very sturdy. the mic sounds great. i plugged it straight to my pc. i will upgrade to a preamp mixer later and use a xlr cable. i have the mic gain half way up and it works great with a few filters on obs. for a plug n play mic you cant go wrong!
5.0 out of 5 stars Great inexpensive mic
Had a blue snowball which was terrible. This mic sounds great and the price is amazing by comparison to other desktop mics. If you are looking for an inexpensive mic that sounds great and not like talking into a tin can this is it.
5.0 out of 5 stars It’s worth the money
I was very skeptical about how good the quality would be fore the price. But having previously purchased and tried many other FiFine mics and having been pleasantly surprised before I decided to give this one a shot.PROS1. For a budget podcast, streaming, and audiobook microphone it is great.2. It has enough clarity in the high end and enough richness in the low end to fit a lot of voices.3. The desk arm mount is sturdy and built a lot better than most mic and desk mount bundles.4. It works well on my iPhone, iPad, PC and mixer. As long as you have the right adapter it works very well.CONS;1. It’s a little to sensitive to don’t touch it too much or bang on the desk while recording.2. It’s light and doesn't have the best shielding so keep you iPhone/smart devices away from the capsule.3. Because it has a more light weight aluminum body it king of rings slightly if you pop the mic with plosives. But you shouldn’t do that any way.4. Though it works with iPhones, iPads, and other smart devices, it’s kind of quiet through the USB option. But sounds much better and louder through the XLR port.Over all, this is a great mic for anyone looking to create their own content and looking to start with something that would operate effectively with most setups on really any device.
3.0 out of 5 stars Like the quality but the base is unstable
I like the quality and voice is very clear when recording. However, the base it comes with it’s a bit unstable. It’s not that practical to move all the time. Or adjust frequently. Maybe it’s not designed for it but I used it with my desktop setup and I need to move it back and forward frequently.
5.0 out of 5 stars Wow. It actually sounds pro
I’ve bought expensive mics in the past and this one is a steal.
