5.0 out of 5 stars Microphone works great, highly recommend.
I needed a microphone for my MSI TITAN 18 HX. The Tech at MSI recommended FIFINE. The microphone works great. I highly recommend, very fair price.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great for casual calls and Zoom classes!
Been loving this for my Zoom language classes! It really has helped me feel more confident speaking a new language knowing my audio doesn’t sound like it’s been compressed and sent through a potato. It has leveled up my online TTRPG games because my players can actually hear the nuances in my voice! It’s been great even just for casual calls with my friends who speak different languages, as my voice is crisper and easy to understand. While I don’t have a podcast, I’m sure that this could render a decent sound. If you’re experienced with using amps and filters, this is not the microphone for you! This is a straight USB plug-in type, which does not give you complete control over audio settings. The only settings you can fully control are input volume (partial) and a mute button. In order to change any other factors, you’ll have to overhaul the settings in the call app you’re using (Discord, Zoom, Skype, etc). The mute button is VERY sensitive—you do not have to click the button, it’s basically a touch-screen.The only major issue I’ve found is that this microphone has issues with gain levels—not a huge issue if you’re using this for online calls and gaming, but if you’re planning to use this for music recording you might encounter issues. In my audio settings on Discord, for example, I have to set the gain very high in order to have the output reach standard levels, even with input volume turned up and using the microphone less than 1 foot from my face. This might be improved by a sound shield, at which point I’ll make an update. I can say this didn’t improve with moving the pop-filter piece; I am considering getting a foam cover filter and moving the microphone closer to see if that will improve things, too.And one tiny micro issue—the tripod foot doesn’t really work. The legs are too loose to properly hold the microphone up; the only stance that has kept it steady is with the legs almost fully splayed out, and even then it has tipped over. It’s also slightly annoying to keep fussing with the legs, just to prevent the microphone from falling off your setup, only to accidentally brush the “mute” button and silence yourself. I’m considering hacking an old lamp to make a boom stand to bring the microphone closer to myself just to avoid using the tripod.OVERALL, I’m very pleased with this! For something I use for casual stuff—class and friend calls—it has helped me in small ways. Appreciate it for what it is and you'll have a good time.
5.0 out of 5 stars My second Fifine microphone
This is the second Fifine microphone that I got and they are two different models. The first microphone I got from Fifine was about 4 years ago. I bought it with my own money and it's a good mic. The sound quality is good and it does the job well. Both mics are definitely a big upgrade from the built in microphone on my computers. I got this microphone to use at home and the other one at the office. I use both for Zoom, Google, or Skype web meetings. This microphone came in a cardboard box that is padded inside with styrofoam. There were no problems with shipping from Bolo in their bubble mailer. The mic comes with a small trifold desk microphone stand and a usb to usb c cable to connect with your computer. It is plug and play and a very simple set up. This took at total of one minute to get up and running. I took everything out of the packaging and screwed the mic onto the stand and then plugged the mic into the computer with the included cable. The computer instantly recognized the device and Zoom automatically chose this as the primary microphone. This mic would probably work very well for a podcast because it has a volume knob, a mute button, and a built in wind screen. The volume knob is smooth and does not click. Clicks would be annoying for recording. The mute button is not an actual button that you press but you have to touch it like when you turn on some tv's or monitors these days. This kind of mute button makes it fairly silent to turn on and off even when you are recording. Since I will be using this for meetings, my plan is to set the volume for my set up and leave this mic in the on setting. But it's nice to have a quick mute that I can touch if I ever need to cough or something like that. My other mic from Fifine doesn't have that function. The stand is decent. It doesn't feel cheap and it gets the job done. The built in wind screen can be adjusted and twist around the mic. It looks good but it does feel a bit fragile so I would be a little worried if I needed to move this around regularly because I am fairly clumsy and I tend to break things. Other than the wind screen this microphone and stand both feel solid because they are made of metal.I would definitely recommend this microphone if you need to connect to your computer to record audio for web meetings or podcasts. So far my experience with the brand is that they make good quality microphones for a decent price. The sound is clean and clear, and the build quality is good. I would recommend their brand and would get another microphone from them if I ever needed it.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good mic.
The item was delivered fast, and was in simple packaging. It was packed well in plenty of foam and was in pristine condition. The mic was surprisingly heavy, made with good strong materials. It was easy to assemble, and came with it's own tripod, that was made well too. The pop guard is thin but it works. Did not come with a dead cat. My only complaint with this mike is that even with the gain up all the way my transmission/my voice was still low to me... Everyone I spoke to said it sounded good on their end, even people on the other side of the world from me... Shout out to my Wantonk brothers, and sister in Popua New Guinea, and Indonesia. All in all I believe this is a good quality product. If I had to compare it to other mike in and slightly above the same price range, I would say you are safe with this one. It's better made, and for the price your getting a lot. This company did a good job with this product in my humble opinion.
