5.0 out of 5 stars Great Lens!
I’ve been engaged with photography for years, but I still consider myself a novice. I went from the a7iv Sony kit lens to the sigma, and absolutely did not realize what a world of a difference putting in moremoney into a quality lens for an expensive body would make. (Yes, I’m a true novice in many sense.) The quality of the camera just blows my mind and the bokeh is great. The weight of the camera is a bit heavier than expected, but for its quality, I’llTake it! This is a good value for the buck!
5.0 out of 5 stars Great general purpose zoom lens
While I love primes, you can't beat the flexibility of a zoom lens for general photography. I wanted a lens that was tack sharp and had a constant aperture through the zoom range. The Sony lens in this range are a lot more expensive, but I've had good luck with Sigma lenses, so I chose the cheaper option. The first thing you notice about the Sigma is that the zoom ring rotates counterclockwise to zoom in, whereas most other brands rotate clockwise to zoom. It’s like driving in England or Japan compared to the US or Europe. You can adjust except when you have to make a really quick decision, and you turn the wrong way. The other thing you notice is that it is a hefty lens that feels very solid. I shot it for three hours at a race, and it never felt like it was too heavy.I did a “scientific” test comparing the Sigma with other lenses in my kit bag at matching focal lengths and at f/2.8 or as close as I could get. I shot a book cover using a tripod and a remote trigger. I lined things up by eye, so the book was not going to be perfectly parallel to the front of the lens. I shot inside using available light and adjusted shutter speed to keep the ISO at 100. While the primes were slightly sharper, especially in the corners, you had to pixel peep to see much difference. For normal shooting, this lens is sharp through the zoom range.I used the Sigma to shoot the Canal Corridor 100 mile endurance race at the 60-mile mark aid station. It performed very well. Previously, I’ve shot the Burning River 100 mile endurance run using the Sony A99ii and Sony 70-400mm zoom. Because of the long zoom, I found most of my shots were taken with the runners further away. With the 24-70, I was waiting until the runner filled the frame more, and I got more intimate shots. I rarely missed focus, and the shots were all sharp. The backgrounds blurred nicely. The zoom range let me get wide angle shots to capture the support crew and spectators. Overall, the lens proved to be an excellent choice.Highly recommended for full-frame Sony E-mount cameras. I haven't tried it on my APS-C camera yet, but it should be good on that.
5.0 out of 5 stars The perfect general purpose lens for Sony
As a landscape photographer, this lens checks all the boxes. Great sharpness corner to corner: check. Long throw focus ring for great delicacy, feel and precision for accurate manual focusing: check. An aperture ring with precise 1/3 stop clicks or turn the click off for video: check. Rugged build quality while still keeping modest weight and low bulk: check. Really brings out the best of the high resolution Sony camera.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great lens with versatile range
Great lens that's very versatile. A little heavy, but has wonderful features and bokeh
5.0 out of 5 stars Great Lens Promising Seller
An amazing lens, well worth the purchase. Packaged arrived on time and safely, this seller can be trusted.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excelente calidad
Muy buena calidad visual y excelente combo con el flash y la memoria
5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic
The glass is fantastic, but outside of the great aperture ring being included, it's no different from the previous DG DN. If you are strapped for money, that one is still a good deal. I only got this one to match the 70-200 with the same aperture ring.
Version 1 of this lens was great but this one is even better!
Very happy with the purchase of this lens. Amazing optical quality and improved autofocus from first version. Also came with the full 7 year warranty from Sigma.
Excellent
Buy this lens, it won't disappoint
Probably the best in this zoom range and aperture
I had the mark-1 version of this lens whixh was pretty heavy. Upgraded to this the moment its launched. Significant weight reduction.Quality bokeh (i put on 70mm and move around the subject for maximising it.)Ultra sharp. Even when cropped in. I use along with sony a7rv. Super clear.Build quality is pretty much same as mark-1. Though i see this version is better in handling dust.Cons- why the zoom ring rotation of signa is in other direction. It annoys me after using any other lens for a while and suddenly switch to sigma for some close ups. Really irritating. So this lens only 4.95/5 😎
Der alles Könner
Super Linse, atemberaubende Bilder.
