When the outside temperature starts to drop routinely below 60 degrees and most days we have the heat on inside, we haul out our big room cool mist humidifier as well as a small unit in one of the upstairs rooms. What we need, though, is one for a different upstairs room (or, if needed, a backup unit). This one is priced right, and has a large enough capacity to take care of our needs. To try it out, I planned to set it on the nightstand next to our bed.That plan, alas, came to a screeching halt immediately when I read the instruction booklet, which told me not to set it on carpet, a cloth like a towel or a wood surface. WHOA - the nightstand is covered with a decorative cloth, which I could remove, but guess what the stand itself is made of? You guessed it - wood! So what on earth, I wanted to know, CAN I set it on? The booklet didn't explain, nor did the online description (which, for the record, mentioned nothing about surfaces to avoid; had I known that ahead of time, I probably wouldn't have ordered it). So, I used the app to ask the question, the response being that the only workable possibility mighit be putting it on some kind of metal. Okaaaay, I said - finally finding a cooking trivet on short legs that hopefully will work.Immediately, I'm not very happy; but from that point on, everything went well. As I mentioned before, it's a generous capacity - it should work for four nights without refilling if I turn it on when I get in bed and immediately after I get up in the morning (do be aware you'll need to manually turn it off; it will shut off if it runs dry, but otherwise there's no timer). There's a light to indicate that it's functioning (which can be turned off), and the amount of mist is adjustable as well (I'm guessing I might get fewer than four nights if I ran it at full bore). It's very easy to fill, and once it's full it's not too heavy for an old lady like me to carry it back to the bedroom. As long as your water isn't too hard, straight from the tap will do - another plus.

This is a really good Cool Mist Humidifier but I recommend in smaller roomIt is easy to fill and set upThe tank area appears that it will be easy to clean and the water capacity will run for several hours

I like that it is small and compact. If you were using this, just to add moisture to your plants, then it’s a great buy. However if you were looking for medicinal purposes, such as clearing up, congestion, I wouldn’t purchase. You cannot add essential oils to the water and the stream of air isn’t very powerful.

I put this next to me when I sleep. I suffer from terrible sinus issues. When it's dry I have terrible sinus pressure. My skin gets extremely dry, and I'm a skin care fanatic lol. Who'd think this little thing would be so helpful?!. Now if you're looking to be adding essential oils and all that this is not for you. This is easy to use and easy to clean. I'm really happy with it. These are for small areas not for a huge open area of the home. I'm going to get one for a friend and another for myself for our offices. I definitely recommend this product!
