I needed some pens that were a little nicer than those available at the local big box store, but not so expensive as the 'name brand' pens I used to get from the Parker or Cross. These are for my Dad who's living in a nursing home and we've been told repeatedly to not bring in nice things as they will disappear if they're something people can put in their pocket. At ~$4 per box of five these were just about perfect on price and with five in the box I was hopeful that if one disappeared we could pull out another one easily enough. Something I hadn't realized about Mister Pen is the company is somehow affiliated with teacher down south? So, giving them some business may be helping them with their school supply costs (and I've gotten other Mister Pen stuff which has also been great). We'll see how long these five last, but they write nice and are very cost effective for pens that may or may not disappear.

These rollerball gel pens write very nicely. They make a consistent dark black line. The ink comes out neither too slow nor too fast. The diameter of the pen body is a nice medium thickness at 3/8 of an inch. The metal clip is a rose gold color and holds strongly. Next to the clip is printed the Mr. Pen name and mustache logo in gold-colored ink. The push button to extend and retract the pen has a good positive travel and solid feeling. The pens come with a red blob attached to the tip to prevent drying out before first use. The blob is easy to pull off with the fingers.

These are very nice gel pens. They had a plastic guard to keep them in place for shipping, and the ends each have a little red cap that must be removed prior to use. The clip is kind of a rose gold color and adds a classy touch. Most importantly, the black ink (I prefer black over blue) flows very smoothly.
