5.0 out of 5 stars Simple, Functional, Attractive - Great Find!
As a single person living the camper life I appreciate the versatility that this beautiful set affords me. Using the two pieces I can accomplish almost everything I use cookware for, from making bacon and eggs and frying burgers and chops, to making soups, stews, and roasts, including even baking bread (I have a sourdough starter in the works that I can't wait to try in the Dutch oven)! The craftsmanship is first class and I find the set to be quite attractive in an unassuming kind of way. It's a nice mix of simplicity and functionality. The 2 in1 aspect makes it a great value when shopping for quality cast-iron cookware. I highly recommend this product.

Absolutely love the" Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven Casserole Pot - Cast Iron Skillet Lid – 2 in 1 Cooking Cookware." Used the "lid" to make a chicken and tomato dish. Loved the ease of browning the chicken and tomatoes (along with honey, balsamic vinegar and EVOO) on the stove top and then being able to pop it into a 425 degree oven to finish the cooking the chicken and roasting the tomatoes. It was was so very easy to clean the lid with just soap, hot water and a plastic scrubbie. This is a MUST BUY!

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely solid and beautiful!
This enameled covered cast iron pot is of incredible quality. Seriously, it is so thick and heavy with a very slick enameled surface. My wife and I used it as a Dutch oven to bake a small loaf of artisan bread for our dinner the other day. It is not all perfect though. Here is both the good and the bad of our experience with it so far…The Good- Beautiful color and sheen. We got the light blue and it is gorgeous (see attached photo).- Non-stick coating. We used a silicone sleeve for our bread but it was not needed. The surface of the pot itself is slick enough.- Very thick and heavy cast iron. It retained heat very well. Our bread cooked to perfection with that thick crunchy crust that only a Dutch oven can provide.- Large handles on both sides for both the pot and the lid.- The lid doubles as its own separate skillet!- Safe for all oven and stove surfaces. The bad- The handles are not insulated at all. You will need very good gloves or hot pads to handle.- The the ceramic coating can be used over a gas burner, it will mar the finish a little. Since we only have a gas stove, we will probably not use the lid as its own separate skillet.ConclusionFrom the moment we took this pot out of the box, we were amazed with its solid quality. What a beautiful piece for our kitchen. We highly recommend it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Versatile kitchen addition
If it's fit to be cooked, a Dutch over will pretty much accommodate it, from main courses to desserts. I went on a week-long raft trip once and every bite I ate for a week came from one or another Dutch oven, all of it prepared by a man named Stew Pot (honest, I'm not making this up), and for that week I never ate better in all my life. The cobblers were especially divine. The key to outdoor Dutch over cooking -- in addition to having a gnarly old cook with an endearing name -- is thick cast iron and low, sustained heat, most conveniently applied via charcoal briquettes strategically placed under, around, and on the lid of the oven. With the pot under consideration here, the ugly cast iron is still at the heart of the matter, but it's thickly coated with a glistening layer of absolutely gorgeous light blue enamel. (Other colors are available, but this light blue is dazzling.) This oven's sparkling enamel might be offended if you piled layers of charcoal briquettes all over it, but that isn't going to happen anyway. This one is designed for indoor cooking and it excels at that assignment. Like its charcoal-blackened progenitors of yore, though, this one will cook just about any dish and, evident from its name, its specialty is casseroles. But like I say, it'll cook any dish. First thing my wife wanted to cook in it when she saw it was bread. We hadn't cooked bread in ----- forever, but somehow we hadn't forgotten how. The perfectly browned loaf came out round as a Cossack's head, with a soft tasty interior and crisp crust. Yummy. I look forward to many meals from this new kitchen mainstay. Long live Dutch oven cooking.
4.0 out of 5 stars Nice dutch oven
I like cooking with cast iron. This pot differs a bit from my lodge cast iron pots since it doesn't have a handle or recessed lid to hold coals so it is a bit awkward. You need good silicon oven mitts to handle the hot pot and remove the lid. The walls of this pot are thinner than the lodge so it is lighter. Not sure yet if that will affect the cooking.
