5.0 out of 5 stars These are great!

I break them up and cook with rice in bone broth. They give a nice flavor, especially if the rice is then cooked in ghee or coconut oil. I have also ground them into powder in a coffee grinder and sprinkled on food I'm cooking (don't use raw - they're best cooked). And that's what you do with dried mushrooms - add them to food with liquid they can cook in. Don't think you'll rehydrate these and have anything but a flavorless glob. The flavor is in the mushroom pieces - to get it, cook them with food.If you want mushroom slices to cook as mushrooms, buy fresh mushrooms.
5.0 out of 5 stars Organic sliced shiitake mushrooms, convenient
Put some in a pot, pour boiling water over them, stir. Then a half or so an hour later, drain and rinse. I put them into a stir-fry, or soup, etc. Pretty easy because they are already trimmed and sliced. I think they are very good. There are marked USDA organic, but they are a product of China, which could be a concern for some.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good Value for Large Dried Shiitakes
These are on the large side, and do come with the woody stems. I would not eat the woody stems, but once you soak and rehydrate these, break them off, and mash them up a bit into the soaking water to extract some extra flavor, then save the broth. The caps are fantastic once rehydrated and sliced up in an Asian soup, hot pot, or rice bowl type dish. Like anything else dehydrated, they're shelf stable when sealed back up properly after opening.
4.0 out of 5 stars good poduct!
Very good product!
5.0 out of 5 stars A very good bargain
This is a huge bag, and stuffed with dried sliced mushroom caps. What I really love is that stems already removed. I bought another brand before, and after rehydrating, I had to cut stem portion off each slice. A real pain. Also, slices with this purchase are all pretty even, instead of pieces of different sizes. I think these are a real bargain, considering price of shiitakes in grocery store, which are usually wilting with large stems attached, which must be removed as they are basically inedible. Will buy when I run out!!!
5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Soups, Etc.
Bought for my friend/partner .... Very Earthy tasting !!
5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to rehydrate and use
These dried Shiitake mushrooms are great! First, the package is huge, making it a very good value - you get a lot of product for your money. Second, and even more importantly, the slices rehydrate very quickly and easily, compared to whole mushrooms. Finally, the texture and taste of these slices is superior to whole mushrooms, which tend to be very tough and chewy. I used the mushroom slices to make miso soup. Highly recommended!
1.0 out of 5 stars Food poisoning
Soaked and cooked with some zucchini, but got bad food poisoning for 24 hours. Unfortunate since good price for Shiitake.
