5.0 out of 5 stars Smooth, Reliable, and Convenient Electric Scooter
I bought the Scooter for my mom's commute (SHE LIVES 10 minutes from work), and she couldn’t be happier! It was super easy to assemble, and the battery lasts long enough for her work trips without needing frequent charges. The ride is smooth, the seat is comfy, and the scooter handles great. The foldable design and storage basket are perfect for errands. Highly recommend!
5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing for short distances! EXTREMELY BEAUTIFUL AND COMFORTABLE
The media could not be loaded. This is so far my best purchase in a long time!. A friend recommended me this product and I love it. It is fast, comfortable and well made. I use it every morning to go to the gym ( it took me 15 minutes per trip) the battery last, but I need to charge it completely twice per week. it is super easy to assemble and it’s is perfect for short trips.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great Utility Scooter
This Gotrax A5 Electric Scooter w/Seat for 13+, 12" Pneumatic Tire, Max 15.5 Miles &15.5 Mph Power by 400W Motor, Dual Rear Shock Absorber &Dual Brake, Comfortable Wider Seat & Carry Basket & Hook,Orange isn't my first electric scooter, but it is the first I've had that has a seat and basket, which in my mind makes this a bit different to the ones I'm used to riding.First off, assembly is very simple takes about 10 minutes at most, but the main thing here is once assembled be sure to fully charge the battery before you first use the scooter. Charging the battery will take several hours, but once it's charged it should be ready to ride. Now, I own a much larger, more powerful dual motor scooter that I have used to commute to the office when I have to go in to work, and because of how many large hills there are where I live, it's basically a requirement because a scooter like this GoTrax just doesn't have nearly enough power to get up even the smallest of hills around here. So, for me at least the power of this scooter is the main limiting factor but if you live in a mostly flat area then this should work perfectly for you.Riding this is way different than I'm used to, I've never had a sit-down scooter and I just kind of feel awkward riding around on it. I'm 6' 1" and 172 lbs and it feels like I'm riding around on a toy instead of an actual scooter or bike or whatever. Another issue I had after riding around my neighborhood for a while is the seat does get uncomfortable and it's unfortunate that there isn't any way to replace the seat with one that has more cushioning. The actual utility part of this utility type electric scooter is actually very minimal. The basket that comes with this scooter is very small and can't really fit much in there, which is a disappointment. I haven't looked into if there is any upgrade path for it, but I sincerely doubt there is.For basic trips around town or down the street to a friends house this scooter is plenty capable, but in my testing the range of the battery was less than advertised, I was unable to get 15.5 miles on a fully charged battery, I got closer to 12. Perhaps it's because of the aforementioned hilly nature of where I live, but even so I was riding around my neighborhood which is mostly flat with only a couple small hills. Either way, be sure you plan your route ahead of time, or take the charger with you so you can charge when you get to your destination and still have enough juice to make it back home. I learned the hard way as I had to walk this thing back home late Sunday night after watching football over at a friends house. Also, if you're planning on putting this in a car to take with you, be aware this is much heavier than most electric scooters, and it also occupies more area because of the seat and basket. It fit into the trunk of my Honda CRV easily, but I had to lift it then lay it down almost sideways so that it wouldn't scuff up the interior.Overall, this is good for someone who just needs very basic transportation around the neighborhood, but it certainly isn't going to get you there quickly and if you're planning on using this to get groceries or something, you're going to have a bad time. But for most people this will work well to just get around a neighborhood, or whatever. Just try to plan out your route ahead of time to ensure you have enough battery to make it there and back.As for the score, I feel this is like somewhere between 3.5-4 stars but I will give it 4 stars just because Gotrax does make great products, I've owned several of their scooters and they just simply work, even on one of the ones that a friend had a crash on it still worked perfectly afterwards. They make good products, and while this isn't the right kind of scooter for me, it will definitely be perfect for the vast majority of people out there.
5.0 out of 5 stars It is very convenient to go to work.
I used it for a week before commenting. It is very convenient to take the kids to school. It is also easy to install and can be folded up and put in the car. The speed is 25 miles per hour and the battery capacity is durable. I only used two bars of power after riding it for a few days. A child can stand directly in the front and there is a basket in the back for school bags. My children and the children next door like it very much. They ride it every night. The means of transportation to school has now changed from cars to electric vehicles.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great scooter
GoTrax Scooter is a great addition to our household supplies. Super fun to ride around the neighborhood w/friends. Also great for commuting around town. Easy to assemble and charges quickly. It has a light in the front and break lights in the back so I feel safe even when i ride it in the dark. There is a basket that allows you to carry items (I usually use it to put my water bottle). It is also something that helps me destress after work being able to ride it around the neighborhood. Me and my wiife used it and I am 6 feet tall and she is 5 feet tall. Definitely safe to used because also has keys !
5.0 out of 5 stars Pleasantly surprised
I wasn't expecting much for a $400 scooter, but this is an amazing scooter! My adult boys love it and my brother-in-law loves it! I can't seem to keep it in the house because they keep using it to run to the store and just go for rides around the park. we get way more use out of this than we did the standing scooter. I highly recommend getting this! it is super easy to put together, has a really comfortable seat, and the battery lasted for days (they kept forgetting to charge it). It does not have a speedometer on it, but it seems to go fast enough that they all like it.
