This set is the best carving set I’ve seen. It includes everything you need to carve and light great pumpkins. There are seven sharp stainless steel carving tools. They have very good quality handles. They’re like the handles on a screwdriver and they have a cute face on them. The four pumpkin lights are bright but can be dimmed. The remote controller has functions to dim, to change from steady on to candle mode, and a timer function. There are choices for 2/4/6/ or 8 hours on and will turn on again at the same time each day. They require 3 AAA batteries each.This carving set also includes 10 templates to create cool professional Jack-O-Lanterns and a nice case to keep everything together and organized. This set is a great quality set. Everything is included for a fun day of carving pumpkins. The box that the set comes in is very durable, the graphics are great. This carving set would make a very nice gift.

All the parts are high quality which is why I am a little surprised that the "templates" were nothing more than quarter folded printer paper with a pattern printed on it. I feel like there's a better way for doing templates like, perhaps plastic pieces that you could trace and cut?Otherwise, the other parts - the lights, scoops, cutting tools, etc - great! I gave it to my teen kid for a gift that she can take with her as she has always loved carving pumpkins. Great value and would recommend as long as you aren't really wanting templates.

I mostly picked this set because of the pumpkin lights. I had another small set of pumpkin carving tools but this set is so much better! I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and variety of the carving tools. They are so much easier to use than my others. The variety of tools allows for greater detail in carving. They do a better job too. I like that these come with a sturdy canvas zippered bag to store them in. The lights don't fit in the bag, and that fine. All the tools fit easily.The lights are exactly like those larger stick on push lights, only smaller. The color is warm so they look beautiful inside a pumpkin. They do require batteries that are not included.Overall, this is an awesome set. They've thought of everything!

For years while our kids were little, we used those orange plastic pumpkin carving tools that are safer for small kids. Now that our kids are older, we were anxious to try a heavy-duty set of pumpkin carving tools.QUALITYThe tools in this set are definitely heavy-duty and are made very well. They are also very comfortable to hold and to use. We appreciate the quality of the tools.The zippered storage case is also a very good quality and is handy to have.The LED lights and remote controls work well. The lights don't come with batteries, so you will need to supply your own.The included template sheets are a nice touch - just tape the paper onto a pumpkin and you're ready to trace the design.FUNCTIONWhile it's too early to be carving pumpkins, I tested these tools on a watermelon - they worked great! Nothing bent or broke while using. I'm sure we'll get many years of use out of them.I definitely recommend this affordable set!

This set is great - finally a complete set for pumpkin carving! I always forget about the pumpkin lights and am always scrambling last minute to find something. The lights included are really nice and bright and will light a carved pumpkin well. The tools are nicely made and have a good assortment of blades to carve with.
4.0 out of 5 stars Jack-O-Lantern Kit
This kit comes with everything you would need to carve a simple Jack-O-Lantern. It has 4 battery operated lights and two remotes, carving tools, zipper pouch, and several templates. The templates are incredibly simple and I think the kit would be improved with a combination of simple, medium difficulty, and hard difficulty templates. You can schedule the lights to come on automatically and run for a predetermined amount of time (you have to set it up when you want them to come on the first day). As we live in a warm climate, we can generally only have our Jack-O-Lanterns out for about a week before they rot so I like this setting because we can actually remember to enjoy them for the little time we can use them. I do think that 12 batteries is a lot, but since we're only going to actually use them for a week, it isn't that bad. The tools seem to be fairly durable and I really like that they come with a case so we can use them, clean them, and then go ahead and store them with our Halloween decorations so they don't get lost.

I really like this jack-o-lantern set.The tools feel first rate, not flimsy like the cheap supermarket set I bought years back.The included lights are good, too, although they could be brighter. Each of the four lights requires 3 AAA batteries, so make sure you have some fresh ones on hand. There are two remote controls. They're not absolutely, positively required, but they do increase the functionality of the lights. With the remotes, it's possible to dim/brighten the lights, turn them on/off, change between candle (flickering) mode and a straight light mode, and set a timer.The set includes a handy storage pouch for the tools and some really cute stencils to help with the pumpkin carving.One of the things I like the most is that there's actual manufacturer contact info on the box. So, if I have a problem after the Bolo return date, I have some recourse. This doesn't happen often.
