5.0 out of 5 stars Works But Doesn't Taste Great
This powder gets things moving for me as Aloe tends to do. Overall, it seems like a good-quality supplement. The taste is nothing special and only has a faint mixed berry flavor that partially masks the other slightly bitter taste to it. It doesn't taste good, It doesn't taste terrible. If it's a nutritional blend that you're looking for, I'd say this powder is a good option.
4.0 out of 5 stars Aloe vera powder mixed with my moring fruit juice is a winning combo for me.
First, I have used other premier research labs products over the years so I know that the quality of the product will be there. I have never used a powder form of aloe vera. I keep a big aloe vera plant in my front yard so I usually use fresh. I have found aloe to be soothing for my gut in general. It took me a minute to adjust to having to use a powder form. The flavor of this powder, mixed berry, was not my favorite. The powder did easily mix with my morning shake, however I found mixing this with a strong fruit juice a better way to drink this powder. It did mix easily with my small hand blender. I felt that this is an acceptable way to get this powder into your diet. I am still a fan of using this fresh if you can grow or get your hands on this amazing plant.
3.0 out of 5 stars Effective but Unpleasant Taste
This aloe vera powder seems to be effective, but the taste leaves much to be desired. I recommend mixing it with a sweetener or juice to make it more palatable. It's great for supporting digestion and overall health, but the flavor is definitely something to be aware of before purchasing.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent quality
This Aloe Vera Powder mixes almost instantly with water with no clumps. The raspberry, blackberry, cranberry, and currant give it a lovely deep red color. The mix is easy to drink and does not thicken the water at all. I appreciate that there are no sweeteners of any kind in this beverage, but this does mean the taste is rather tart. You can add a sweetener if you wish, but I am very happy it is not sweetened because I don't want extra ingredients. It would be perfect to add to juice or to a smoothie if you wish for sweetness.
4.0 out of 5 stars Usually mix with other stuff
I've never had Aloe Vera with a flavor added. I've been taking a shot of straight inner leaf gel for years. It's done wonders for my stomach. So when I saw a powder & also flavored mix of Aloe Vera I jumped on it.That having been explained I have to say I'm not a fan of this mixed berry they are using. I'd much rather it be lemon or orange. This is a strange marriage of flavors.I know this company & over all, like & respect their products, but will not be reordering this one!I'd rather have PLAIN freezed dried aloe vera and simply add it to a smoothie or drink where it doesn't dominate or ruin it with odd flavors. I took a star off for this, but can't fault the product overall. It's produced right with 'organic, NON GMO, Gluten Free ingredients. It's both purity & potency verified. So that's great as well.I don't see an expiration date, but the manufactured date, if I'm reading it right, on the bottom of my canister, is 04/11/24. That would give it an expiration or shelf life of 2 yrs on average from that date.I will give this to my husband who can chug about anything & I'll go back to my other form because I have benefited greatly by using Aloe Vera Gel daily & will probably never stop.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great Addition To My Smoothies and For Belly Support
I got this to add to my smoothies. So far, I am really enjoying it. It does not taste bad. As a matter fact, it adds a little bit more of a fruity flavor to my smoothies. It helps with stomach issues, which is why I was happy to try it. I will be getting this again.
4.0 out of 5 stars Nicely packaged, not my favorite flavor
This appears to have quality ingredients, however I found the flavor unpleasant when mixed with water. For those of us wanting the health benefits but finding the taste unpleasant I found that it is tasty blended into another beverage that already has a strong and similar flavor, like a berry flavored juice. When mixed as directed (I used a mini whisk) it dissolved well. Overall a quality product, it came fresh and well sealed, it just happens to have a health food flavor!
2.0 out of 5 stars A Lot of Other Ingredients
The Premier Research Labs Organic Aloe Vera Powder comes in an amber plastic jar with a screw top lid. It is a pink powder. A 13 cc plastic scoop is packed with the powder. The serving size is one scoop. The suggested use is one scoop per day. It says one scoop is 7 grams. There are 210 grams (7.4 ounces) in the jar, making the jar a 30-day supply. Each serving contains 2 grams of organic aloe vera powder and 100 mg of acemannan. That means that out of the 7-gram scoop, 4.9 grams is "other ingredients." Other ingredients are black currant juice powder, raspberry juice powder, cranberry juice powder, blueberry juice powder, tapioca starch, probiotic blend (inulin, acacia gum, fructo-oligosaccharides, and grape skin anthocyanin powder. The directions say to mix the powder in water or your favorite juice. It takes about a minute for it to dissolve in room-temperature water. It is fairly tart to drink, similar to Pixy Stix, but not as sweet. If you are averse to tart things, you may want to put it in juice or add some kind of sweetener. I have taken it without any problems. The label says the product is oloin screened, purity verified, non-GMO, soy-free, gluten-free, and vegan friendly. Though there were some numbers on the bottom of the jar that appeared to be a manufacturing date, I was not able to find anything that looked like an expiration date anywhere. The ad does not mention "other ingredients." It only mentions the aloe powder, acemannan, and that you get a 210-gram (7.4-ounce) jar. There is only one picture of the jar in the ad. It does not show the portion of the label that displays the grams of the various constituents. It strategically blanks out the lower portion of the label that shows other ingredients. This is misleading. You only get 63 grams (2.2 ounces) of the main ingredients. That means that 70% of the jar is "other ingredients." I think this is good aloe, but I did not receive the amount of the main ingredient I expected. Relative to other aloe powder products, this is being sold at a premium price. Had I paid for this product, expecting to get 7.4 ounces of aloe powder, I would have been very upset and sent it back. Therefore, I am deducting three stars. Had the ad been completely transparent about what all was in the product, I would have been happy.
