I would never buy these again for the simple fact there were zero instructions on how to assemble. Spent way too much time trying to figure it out . The material is kinda flimsy . I was not impressed at all . They did turn out cute when painted , but definitely never again

These ornaments are cute and fun to paint. I used both an acrylic marker and a paint brush with acrylic paint to paint one of mine to see which I preferred. The acrylic paint I was using was a new, inexpensive set that I had just gotten. It took several coats for me to get the wood covered to my liking. The markers, on the other hand, easily covered the wood without having to do a second coat. So in this instance, I actually preferred the markers. I probably should have used my higher quality paints for a better outcome. But either way, the ornament still turned out pretty good. I really like the size and thickness of these ornaments. They were easy to handle and maneuver while painting. They also come with holes predrilled and burlap type strings for hanging.

Easy to color with paint markers. I was unable to cover over the laser etching of the design however unless I used black paint. Since it's so hard to cover over the design my recommendation is to base coat the whole thing with white first to seal the wood so when you add the colors they are less likely to be picked up and carried by the wood grain. You don't really need to care when that happens with the base coat. You may also want to give the base coat a light sanding as the wood grain does get raised up. I wish the wood had of gotten a quick spray coating of white before being laser cut. This would have made it a lot more end user friendly. Overall It's a nice Easter craft though if you have paint or paint markers handy.
