I need to record some videos from across the room and all the cables were driving me crazy. This transmitter can connect with both my camera and cellphone and display at the other side of the room.Take in consideration that both attachments need to be connected to power too. I use an external battery to avoid extra cables. So far, no drops and the image looks great

Two wireless HDMI transmitter/receivers arrived on the same day, which is the perfect opportunity to write a review contrasting each with the competition.The XCOOL• price at the time of review: $160• form factor: stick dongles, with a USB port on the side for power• claimed range: 100 ft• max resolution: 1080P @ 60HzThe OtherBrand• price at the time of review: $70• form factor: short cable with slightly oversized HDMI connector on one end and a USB connector (for power) on the other.• claimed range: 165 ft• max resolution: 1080P @ <refresh rate not specified>I tested the OtherBrand first. Plugged both connectors to the appropriate ports on the computer, booted, and… it just worked. No fuss, no muss, no screen artifacts. And it handled 1080P @ 60Hz.Then I tried to test this brand. First problem, the width of the stick conflicted with the video card; fortunately there was a short HDMI extension cable included in the box, which solved that problem. But the next problem proved insurmountable: after more than 20 minutes of trying to get the darn things to pair I gave up. Yes, I followed the instructions. In case the problem was that the computer’s USB ports weren’t delivering enough power (though they should and they worked fine with the OtherBrand, which has the same power requirement), I tried powering the sticks not from the computer, but with a separate high wattage USB charger. I reset them. I removed, rebooted, and reseated them. All to no avail.The other thing I noticed was that the receiver—which was displaying an image onscreen indicating I should plug in the transmitter in—had had two weird graphical glitches: one of the letters was distorted and there was some sparkle/snow (a few pixels in the area supposed to be black flickering between back and white).Frankly, even if it did work, I can’t see spending an extra $90 for this product.[Disclosure: I received this product for “free”—in quotes because the IRS requires I pay federal income tax on the retail value. This review is honest and uncensored by the seller.]

It is true "plug and play", and as soon as your phone, laptop or desktop PC is paired up with the display device, then you're ready to go. Now you can play all of your content on the device on the big screen TV or other display mode you selected.Easy to set up, easy to use, works great, but a bit pricey...four stars overall.
