I am currently working on installing a laminate floor in a small room in my house using the "trial-by-fire" method (also commonly known as "learning as we go"...). My YouTube history is absolutely flooded with all sorts of cheery faces who are assuring me that this is an easy DIY project, so I realized that my first step would be figure out where to get all of the tools and supplies I'd need for this wild adventure...This set seemed to include most of the more specialized tools I'm told I'll need - I'm still getting my bearings with them (again, trial by fire...), but I will say that the one tool that has risen up to become my New Favorite Thing is the "Precise Contour Gauge with Lock"....holy moly, this tool is INCREDIBLE and I can't believe I've never had one before (seriously, it alone is worth the price of admission here...). I'll try to remember to pop back here to post pictures of my completed flooring, but honestly, even if it ends up sucking and I have hire a professional to redo it for me, this set of tools will IN NO WAY be the reason why the project fails...

This little kit has just about everything you need to ease installation of laminate flooring. All the tools seem well-made and are comfortable to use, and there are plenty of wedges and spacers to get the job done. The spacers flip over to give you an option of 1/4" or 1/2" spacing, and the numerous wedges let you adjust from there.Great product!

I am installing my third laminate floor, but this time with all the tools to make the job easier. While I prefer a larger plastic mallet most of the time, the small one in the kit is perfect for seating moldings. Both the draw bar and the tapping block work well, although I find I prefer to place the flat side of the block against the flooring rather than the notched side. There are two different designs of spacers, a contour gauge useful for cutting trim, and a tape measure.The larger spacer blocks work well to hold a ¼” gap, but the leg of the ½” side is short and the spacers tend to roll forward rather than stay in place. The other spacer design works like opposing shims to hold gaps between ¼” and ½” and also requires some amount of pressure from the flooring to stay in place.Obviously more tools are needed to lay the floor, but this is a nice set of the more specialized installation tools.Full disclosure: I ordered these Saker Laminate Flooring Tools through the Bolo Vine program. We are remolding our home and I have been thinking about this tool for a while now. This is a complete set of tools that will allow me to install the flooring we purchased. It is made of high quality materials, is easy to use and fits most flooring material. I know you will save money by buying a full set rather than buying one tool at a time. This set is priced comparable to others I have seen at my local hardware store.

Saker makes a great laminate flooring installation kit, especially for DIY like me. It includes the tools needed to help complete the installation of my first flooring project. It helped the special cuts easier and faster. Would recommend.

You've already got plenty of tools, but that doesn't mean they will make the job easier for every task. If you've decided to take on your first flooring job, this kit sets you up with those tools that you don't have already and makes the job a breeze. These tools are of good quality and will last just fine for DIY purposes, but no, they are not pro grade. They are high-visibility which is nice when working on a floor since things tend to get spread out. The spacers and wedges are may favorite part since that saves time making my own and they are easily reused. I really like these as an inexpensive starter kit to get your floor done fast and right.

This kit sure makes installing laminate flooring so much easier. Sometimes a DIYer needs to get the right tools instead of working with what they have. Flooring is one of those times. This kit will make the job easier. It may not be up to a professional's standards but will get the job done more efficiently than not using it. If there is a DIY floor replacement in your future, this kit is worth considering.
