5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent

    S.T. · September 27, 2024

Got this drone as a stepping stone to the more popular/expensive drones. NOT SURE IF I WAS BAD AT FLYING DRONES OR IF IT WAS JUST PREVIOUS LOW QUALITY DRONE PURCHASES. I didnt want to spend a thousand bucks and just suck at flying drones. I'm impressed with the ease of use of this drone. It's responsive, good instant video feedback, and good wind resistance. Oklahoma is not known for its lack of wind. Easy to control and fly. The remote is made of good quality plastic like an Xbox controller and comfortable to hold. Everything linked right up to the app and my phone with no issues. Definately good for beginners interested in picking up the hobby.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Drone

    R.R. · September 25, 2024

I got this drone a couple of days ago it has met my expectations beautiful drone flies great, in flight its rock solid and lands wonderfully at first i thought not having the bottom optical flow camera it would land a bit hard but no it was perfect can’t go wrong with this one….

4.0 out of 5 stars That it’s not as wind resistant as advertised, but overall very good product

    B. · October 9, 2024

Battery life also features such as there is no obstacle avoidance at all, but overall given its price and all that the controller is very cheaply made as far as the antenna holders they broke just by folding them out one time still works also the drone itself is OK but I guess you get what you pay for but honestly Some of the things in the description are false advertised such as flight time when resistance, battery life, and the drones ability to go as far as advertised

5.0 out of 5 stars First Drone Friendly

    j. · September 22, 2024

I've had it a week now and cannot believe how user friendly it is. impressed with ease of flying and picture quality. Around third flight ran into pilot error and thought i lost it. After searching for it a while i came back home and there it was. RTH feature worked great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Under $200 gem...

    S. · October 6, 2024

Finally, a complete budget (under $200) drone package that comes with everything needed to start flying right out of the box (after charging and adding an SD card) that leaves you wanting to fly again. Unlike other packages in this price range, you won’t get frustrated trying to connect to weak Wi-Fi control protocols, poor video feedback, constant in-flight disconnections, or anything else that makes the others a poor choice for beginners. This one just works like the big boys, albeit without the same video and camera quality. This was shipped in a small box with well-protected packaging. Included was the drone with a battery, the controller, a small bag with cables and a screwdriver (with extra screws), and a bag with a complete set of extra rotors. The only thing lacking was a complete printed manual, but a QR code is included in the app's help section to download a PDF. What did come was a tiny quick start guide that included the QR code for the app.The drone looks to be of high quality, lightweight (under the FAA 250g rule), with tight hinges on the foldable arms. There is no gimbal (which is why it’s a ‘budget’ drone), but the camera is hung from a shock-absorbing set of suspended 4-point mounts. The controller is impressive, as the sticks feel tight and precise, the antennas are functional (unlike most others that, for some reason, add fake antennas), and the phone is mounted centrally by spreading the controller apart. I’ve always liked this type of mount for controllers.Flight Time: The flight time was impressive, as I was able to fly for 25 minutes and land with 20% battery left. This is not quite the 40 minutes promised, but more than I get from my Mavic 2, so no complaints there. The long flight time is likely due to the lack of a gimbal, which takes CPU and motor power.Camera Quality: The camera (a Sony 1/3” sensor) is quite good. The EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) does a good job of compensating for the lack of a gimbal, but the video suffers from quick drone yaws and tilts. Using the “Video” mode helps in this regard while filming. The video bit rate is only 12 Mb/second, but that is to be expected from a budget-level drone. Still images are 12 MP and are of decent quality, but nothing to use professionally.Transmission Range: The range is advertised at 4 km, and I have no doubt that this could be achieved under controlled conditions. I did a quick range test but ran out of battery before I could get 4,000 feet away. I started that test with 50% battery, and the drone intelligently turned around at about 28% to make it home so it wouldn’t drop out of the sky. When it decided to turn around, the transmission signal was still 4/5 bars, and I saw no interruptions in the FPV video. VERY IMPRESSIVE!Auto Return: The auto return works as expected; you can control the return height to clear any trees or structures in the area. I manually returned a few times to test the landing precision, and once it landed spot on the small platform that I took off from. In all cases, it was within 10 feet of the take-off spot. It also did an auto return during the distance test.SurgeFly: I’m not sure what SurgeFly does, but this drone has 3 flight modes (video, normal, and sport). In sport mode, I was able to go 31 MPH, a very respectable speed for this level of quadcopter. It was able to hold position in a slight wind, and the EIS seemed to compensate somewhat for the associated tilt as the drone fought the wind. What I did notice was a slight horizon tilt while flying and filming, but a slight yaw in the opposite direction corrected it quickly.Final Verdict:I rated this drone 5 stars, as it is the best one out there when investing under $200 for a complete kit, including a decent controller. I really liked the stability using only GPS for positioning (there is no optical flow camera on the bottom for indoor flying). It is rock-solid stable, even in slight winds. I also liked the long range. I flew almost 4,000 feet—too far for anyone to fly away as it is beyond VLOS, but a testimony to its strong signal at closer ranges where obstacles may be blocking the signal. Also worth mentioning is the long flight time. You won’t find anything over 15 minutes on any of the other budget drones.I would recommend this drone to anyone as a new pilot. It won’t frustrate you at startup, and you won’t experience signal drops, instability, or any of the issues that all of the others provide.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great novice drone - easy to fly, 2.5K resolution camera is super clear

    C.N. · September 29, 2024

I've taken a bit longer to review this drone because I wanted to give the little ATOM LT a review that does it justice. It's a drone under 249 grams which means it doesn't need to be registered or have a remote ID fitted. The flight interface uses your phone attached to the proprietary flight controller (connected via a USB-C port in the case of my iPhone 15 Pro Max) with two aerials and two control stalks. You will need to download the Potensic App to fly the drone. The drone itself is foldable and has eight propellers (2 each on the 4 folding arms) - note there's no prop guards so bear that in mind from a safety perspective. The drone has a battery pack that promises up to 40 minutes of flying, a 2.5K camera with a gimbal for panning up and down as well as GPS stabilisation but no active collision avoidance. The drone will need to have a microSD card inserted (not included) to take photos or video. (I got the recommended 633x spec video card for high speed performance for taking video). There is no simulator mode to try to learn to the fly the drone on the controller without the risks of actual flying that some of the more expensive (and bigger) drones may have. On the other hand, as mentioned it has GPS stabilisation to help fly, auto take off and auto land to help with the hardest and riskiest manoeuvres (take off and landing) as well as a beginner mode that creates a virtual box to limit altitude and distance from take off.The first flight will require a bit of set up including the calibration but the app is pretty intuitive and I was going in a few minutes.I did a few flights in beginner mode to familiarise myself with basic controls including the panning on the camera - the beauty of GPS stabilisation is that even with a bit of breeze that letting go of the controls will generally result in a stable hover. After 3 flights, I disengaged some of the safety limits but still using the auto take off and landing I could make some circuits of the neighborhood - I deliberately flew during the day and not over any private property (so I overflew the park and roads) after checking the local ordinances and consulting a B4UFly app to ensure there were no flight restrictions. The little ATOM fly flawlessly and made my pretty novice skills look pretty accomplished as I recorded the flight on the SD Card.Remember there's no collision avoidance so I did think about the flight envelope and dialled up an altitude of about 65 feet in the flat land in the neighbourhood to avoid trees (and I kept an eye out for the odd hawk that flies over the nearby orchard). Also I don't want to annoy the residents in my neighborhood so I didn't do a long flight or fly over the properties and at 65 feet, the drone isn't too noisy either. After landing I downloaded the footage to my phone and reviewed. On my phone the resolution is incredibly clear - look on my 65" 4K TV isn't not going to look like a UHD movie but it's very clear on a phone and I am really pleased with the results. In summary as a novice drone for LoS (line of sight) use, it's very easy for a novice to get up and fly as well as take some very clear resolution. Whilst FPV flying isn't allowed where I am, it's pretty easy to fly in that mode (but noting I maintained LoS to the unit) but remember that the range quoted will be in a flat field and buildings etc that mask or block LoS could be an issue. The drone does have auto return but I haven't tested this as I prefer to control the flight path.Disc: I don't have a PPL or fly RC planes but I'm familiar with flying fixed wing aircraft (including having flown in a simulator) so although a novice I do have some insight into flight as well as an interest in photography.

    Great Atom LT drone

    A.C. · September 26, 2024

The media could not be loaded. Tested this little guy out in 22 kph winds, stayed steady and smooth, quick to set up, great pics. Feels like a high quality drone, not like those cheap toy drones for around 60 - 120 dollars. Returns to home roughly a foot away not bad though. Over all it's a great drone. It won't let you use the drone inside as it needs to connect to satellites.Great battery life from batteries ,over 30 minutes.P.S. the video and pics are in 22km/hr winds.

    AMAZING

Amazing drone, love this, really easy to fly and it goes sooo far and so high. Good quality build and very well priced. A must have!

    Au top

    N. · September 29, 2024

    V. · September 1, 2024

The media could not be loaded.
