Traditional our family has used blow-up mattresses for camping. But after having two of them go flat in the middle of a trip we decided to try a memory foam camping mattress. This one is so comfortable. It is bigger and bulkier than expected but that size gives us comfort. It is a little narrow because we got the cot size. But we love the length. It was reasonable weight which is nice. The bag it came with is well thought-out. It is sturdy and easy to put the mattress into without lots of wrestling. That can be the most annoying thing when camping, breaking a sweat just trying to get everything into the bags.My favorite thing was how little this off-gassed. I pushed my face into it and took a deep breath and it only had the slightest smell. That's a big deal for us as we were sensitive to chemicals. So it was great that we didn't have to let it sit and off-gas.Have not tested the waterproof properties. Will update this review if we run into issues with that.

I am not into camping, but when friends and family left me no choice, I brought this memory foam mattress, so I wouldn’t have to rough it. I have had blow up mattresses before, but loved that all you have to do with this one is unclamp and unroll. No blower required.The mattress gave great support whether I was sleeping on my back or side. It gives medium support. It’s not like sleeping in my own bed, but it lets you sleep on the ground without feeling like you are. It protects you from the hard surface underneath you. It’s 6 feet long and big enough for larger people. The soft cover on top means you don’t need a sheet over it and it also helps my body stay cool, even in humid weather. On the bottom, it’s waterproof, in case the ground is damp.the bottom also prevents skidding. When you’re done, you just roll it up and fasten the clamps to keep it rolled. It folds tight for easy storage.

When you have a tent full of kids on camping pads that are covered with that ripstop type material, it can actually be a 'lil bit noisy to have them all rolling over all night. You know. Camping tent noise. This pad is going to be a hassle camping when it comes to cleanliness because the plush cover that doesn't make crinkly noises also will collect pine needles and every fuzz and dog hair that comes along. But it's a trade-off. Worst case, it can be vacuumed when you get home.It fluffed out nicely after looking a little squashed on opening. The 3" is sufficient for my kids. Since this isn't a pad that is going to pack tightly enough to be a backpacking pad anyway, for adults, I'd go swank and invest in the 4".

I was a guest of a friend who didn't have an extra bed -- so I brought my own. This pad worked perfectly, was comfortable, was not huge and bulky when rolled up, came with a carrying bag that was generously sized and easy to use, and this mattress made the visit seamless. I rolled the mattress out about 2 hours before I slept on it and it expanded just fine. It's absolutely adequate but not super wide, which made it easy to fit into her small space. I slept on it for 4 nights in a row and my 60 year old bones didn't have any complaints. A very reasonable option and easy to use and store.
