5.0 out of 5 stars Great little machine
I'm new to making my own espresso and frothing milk and this little machine makes it super simple...the only addition I had to pur has was a pitcher to froth my milk in, other than that you don't need anything extra. The inly thing I needed a little help with ( which my brilliant husband figured out pretty quickly) is when you go to attach the part of the machine that holds the grounds you have to line it up then REALLY force the handle straight to lock it or else espresso is going to go everywhere...ha but other than that super simple to operate! Highly recommend especially for beginners!
5.0 out of 5 stars Making espresso at home at little less complicated
The amzchef espresso machine is a sweet addition to my beverage station options. I had cappuccino machine back in the 90s from a popular consumer brand. In comparison, this is several steps above that in quality. But like my 90s cap machine, this espresso maker would still be considered a tool for the amateur home barista. The button controls and digital display helps simplify the process and show what options are selected or actions that need to happen:• the dispensing level - single, double, or manual control• indicator for when the water tank has run dry and needs to be refilled• indicator for when preheating is in process• the selected temperature preference - high, standard, low• indicator for when to descale/maintain• side wand dispenser (works in conjunction with the side knob) - hot water dispenser or steam for frothing milk• timerThe display is set back on the machine and when I'm viewing from overhead, the top row of images are cut off. The buttons are ringed by bright blue LED lights with icons printed below that indicate their function. The glare from the lights makes it difficult to see these icons though. It would have been nice if the icons were cut out silhouettes illuminated on the buttons. The removable water tank is set on the back. My coffee machine also has a tank on the back. So, I use a separate pitcher to collect water and fill the tank as needed. This is not a problem for me, but if your machine is set underneath kitchen cabinets, you might have clearance issues. The base has suction cup feet. This keeps the machine in place when inserting and tightening the portafilter handle. But, if you have clearance issues with the water tank, this prevents the machine from moving in and out of place to refill the tank. Also, note that the instruction say to make sure the filter handle is inserted perpendicular to the machine or slightly to the right. I did not tighten it fully on initial use when flushing the system with water. One of my favorite bowls crashed to the floor when the the filter handle fell on top of it.The system comes with two filters, one for single and one for double brew. Each has a max level indicator so you don't overfill with espresso. These fit tight in the portafilter handle. There are a few extra features that I appreciate. The hot water/steam wand is adjustable to move out the side or under the drip tray. A tabbed silicone collar is fit over the wand to facilitate moving it without burning your fingers. The drip tray is equipped with a red float that pops up to alert you when the tray is full of liquid and needs to be emptied. The top of the machine is grooved and can fit a few espresso cups up there. As a novice, I'm sure there are tons of features that I'm missing out on with this machine. My palate is not that sophisticated to know the difference anyway.
4.0 out of 5 stars A little smaller than expected, but a great pitcher
This was a little smaller than expected, but for frothing milk for espressos and coffee it's fine. I like the idea of the black exterior, but mine was plain silver stainless steel. Nothing wrong with it, just the black is more unique. I do like the measurements inside.
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Frothing Pitcher
This stainless steel pitcher is perfect for its purpose. It’s 3 3/4” high, and is tapered outward towards the bottom, making it stable. It also means if you stir inside it, the contents are less likely to spill out, and it gives you a larger diameter at the bottom for stirring. The handle is very simple and large enough to be comfortable. The stainless steel means that it can go in the dishwasher, and you can see that it's really clean once you're done washing it. It's a simple pitcher that’s well designed.
3.0 out of 5 stars Review is for a frothing PITCHER not the actual espresso machine
Not sure why this item says in the description that it is an espresso MACHINE when what was ordered (and received) was only the milk frother CUP. So please note that is what is being reviewed here. The milk frother is a little smaller than I thought it would be, but it works perfectly fine and fits under the wand of our espresso maker perfectly. It's solid stainless steel construction and easy to clean as well. It's a simple item but important to your espresso making routine if you want to make something foamy. So all 3 stars go to that item. I removed 2 stars because the description is misleading in that you think you are getting a espresso MAKER and you are in fact, not.
5.0 out of 5 stars Solid, sturdy, and the perfect size. Exactly what I wanted!
I have been trying to froth my half and half in a coffee cup, which doesn't work the greatest. This thing is perfect. I was afraid it was going to be too large, but it's the perfect size. It's constructed well. The handle seems to be very sturdy. It's also nice that this has measurements on the inside for those who need precision not me😅. Solid, sturdy, and the perfect size. Exactly what I wanted!
5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful little stainless pitcher
I love this pitcher. I don't actually froth my milk, but I will be using it to accurately measure and pour water into my K-Cup machine so I don't end up overflowing my coffee cup. Also for half and half when I have a larger group of coffee drinkers and I have to break out the 10 cup coffee maker. I love the graduation markers inside in both imperial and metric. Nicely done. Recommended.
4.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy, great product!
This is exactly what I was looking for! It is sturdy, well designed and made. If you are looking for something that produces more than 12 oz, then this is not for you. It heats the outside like it should (which is good for judging temperature of milk) and fits well in my hand! I took off one star because it came with a few scuffs which don't hurt the structure, but makes it not quite perfect.Pros:Made wellSturdyPouring spout is designed really wellHandle is great qualityInternal measuring marksCons:Came with a few scuffs, but nothing hurting the structure.
