Getting good Jaggery in the midwest can be tough, so I moderated my expectations. But this was really good! I couldn't wait to try it the day it arrived so I cracked it open and sprinkled a bit on some greek yogurt. Delicious! The next morning I made basmati rice pudding - also everything I hoped it would be. If you're new to jaggery, imagine that dark brown sugar has an older, more sophisticated cousin - that would be this! It's harder, but also has a stronger molasses like flavor. This is ground, with some fine powders and some larger chunks. The bigger pieces were lovely sprinkled on top of carrot cake! This is one of those things I'll keep for special dishes to lend an authentic Indian flare. It's more epxensive than I'd use to make regular cookies etc., but I do think it's absolutely divine!

Not as much a powder as more than crumbly texture. Never used jaggery before, so wasn't sure what to expect, but it's just like using regular white granulated sugar. Good in baking and coffee so far.

I had no idea this type of sugar was called Jaggery until recently. I had an Indian inspired dessert that looked like rice noodles (forgot the name) and it had some sugar on top that was very very tasty. It was this!!! So good! It's like sugar that has been toasted, but better! It's got this flavor I don't know how to describe, but you won't regret it if you get it. It's sooooo good!!

My wife enjoy’s baking on the weekends and she now substitutes jaggery for sugar. Jaggery seems to be less sweet than regular, refined white sugar so she uses about 1.25 cup of jaggery to 1 cup of sugar. We figure if we’re going to consume sugar, why not go with jaggery since it’s rich in minerals. That is much better than empty calories of white sugar.

This is a nice quality jaggery powder that is used a lot in our cooking, love the fact I don’t have the break them in to pieces and it’s already made in a powder format is super helpful in cooking, taste is good and it’s made from raw sugar cane.
