5.0 out of 5 stars Shocked at how nice these are

In recent years things have been trending away from audio drop ins for helmets (probably due to safety reasons). That said, I snowboard 80% better while listening to tunes and getting into my flow state. I just keep it at a volume where I can still hear what is going on around me.I started off with wired helmet drop ins connected to a Bluetooth transmitter attached to my helmet. About 3 years ago, I switched to a real set of wireless drop ins. The new ones sacrificed some audio quality but the controls were much easier to use, especially with gloves on and the setup was just cleaner.Today I just unboxed this new set from outdoor master not really knowing what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality as soon as I opened the box. These are more like high end wireless ear buds that happen to fit inside your helmet more than a set of helmet headphones. Unlike my previous ones, there is no wire in the rear connecting the right and left unit. They are completely independent. They charge in a case just like Apple air pods. The build of the case and drop ins are all really high quality. Slotting them into my helmet was easy and they feel very comfortable. If that wasn’t enough, the best part is that the sound is a significant improvement over my old ones. Sound is more rich and less tinny.I will say there are a few drawbacks in how this design affects their use however. I’m used to keeping my drop ins inside my helmet and just sticking a usb charge cable into them to charge. With these, you have to pull them out and charge them inside the case. Thankfully they are pretty quick and easy to pull in and out but it is still a bit of an inconvenience to get used to. Additionally there doesn’t seem to be a way to turn them all the way off while inside your helmet unless I am missing something. To turn off, you have to take them out of the helmet and stick them into the charging case. All of this is exactly like a set of wireless ear buds like I mentioned earlier, except the added inconvenience of having to take them in and out of your helmet. Oh well, sadly you can’t have everything I guess. With these minor issues, I think these are still awesome and worth 5 stars. Can’t wait to try them out on the mountain this season!

4.0 out of 5 stars Sub-par sound quality, great for it's purpose though

These headphones are awesome. I pop them in my helmet at the start of my ski day and they last until I'm ready to go home. They're plenty loud, and I like the big buttons on the sides so I can easily skip songs or pause/play my music. Only gripe I have is that the sound quality isn't that great. It's certainly not bad, but for the price I was hoping for a bit more bass and the vocals can get tinny when you really crank the volume. Other than that, I love these. The charging case is really handy, and they just look sick. Overall I highly recommend these, just don't expect the sound quality to be as good as they claim.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Option for Skiing, Good Audio, Control Improvements

As someone who has used the top bluetooth ear chips for 8 years now, these are a great pair to get! They're super lightweight to the point that you don't even realize you're carrying anything on your head. The case is very lightweight too, almost seems too light to be a charging case in my opinion. I'm not sure that the case is water resistant which is a bummer because it would be great to stash into a backpack for longer overnight trips and have the piece of mind that it'll be fine if anything happens. The audio quality is great and they get loud enough to be heard well through the helmet and any inclement weather you might experience. It also triggers Siri very easily which i've found to be difficult on older sets. The button controls for the most part are very intuitive and should be easy to memorize after a couple uses. The one that bothers me so far is the "hold to change volume" as i feel i'd prefer some quick clicks. Holding anything down while skiing can be difficult.Only other downside i noticed is i don't see a way to turn them off when not in use and nothing is mentioned in the directions. Seems like they have to be put back in the case to turn off or you need to disconnect from bluetooth every time via your phone which isn't ideal. I have yet to use them enough to see what effect that has on the battery, but i'm certainly not going to take them in/out of my helmet after everytime i ski unless they need charging so hopefully with bluetooth 5.0 they are smart enough to realize when they are no in use.

These are very cool. They fit in the ski helmet nice and snug so they wont get lost. QuaIt is awesome. Sound quality is clear and nice and either low or loud, depending on your listening volume. Very comfortable as to not have to have a uncomfy painful bud in the ear canal which always seem to bother my ears due to sensitivity and problems. The perfect answer to anyone who rides or loves to ski. Extremely awesome gifteable item as holidays approach. Anyone who is I to the types of sporting that use head gear that can have a helmet for these to insert should definitely surprise their loved one or friend as they would truly appreciate these. Definitely gonna be a gift list item this year.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great sound! Easy to use!

I didn’t get to try them out on the mountain yet, but I did take them for a bike ride. They sound great! They fit snugly in the ear cover pocket on my Anon helmet. The buttons are intuitive and big enough that a hand with a glove on can easily control the device. I encountered minimal wind noise affecting my calls when I was going about 15mph/24kph. The 40mm drivers are substantial and have excellent bass response. The sound is crisp and clear. The charging case keeps things together neatly. Not sure about battery life, but for an item this size, I expect them to make it through a day on the mountain, no problem. Easy to install and remove. Did I mention the great sound quality too? Warm, happy ears.
