Bottom line- would recommendI have used silicone baking mats in the past when baking cookies or making bread, but never for prep. I saw this and thought I'd give it a try.I have now used it multiple times - for cookies, bread, pizza dough, and empanadas. So far I am really happy with the performance of this and especially like how it has made cleanup so much easier. The mat appears high quality and is nice and thick. The raised edge works very well at keeping flour, or any ingredient, contained. When baking I like to keep a mound of flour on the counter to quickly add to my dough if it is too sticky or to dust the surface. With regards to being non-stick, overall it works well and dough releases better than a quartz countertop, even somewhat sticky dough (though it still stretches while trying to release...it just didn't leave behind pieces of dough like would happen on the counter).With regards to the stability of the mat while working with it - such as kneading or rolling out - the mat doesn't budge at all if working towards the center. I have had a edge lift once while kneading dough that was still really sticky and I was right next to the edge. Moved to the center and no problems.Only thing that was a minor inconvenience was cleanup of the mat itself. Since it is so large, it was a little difficult to wash and rinse in the sink. However, I'm not sure if I would really want a smaller one and shrink my working surface.The only thing I haven't tried is cutout cookies. At this point I am still too nervous about cutting into the mat with the metal cutouts. Eventually I'll give it a try, but will have to be careful I don't push down too hard.Overall, I am happy with this mat and I find myself always pulling it out to use when making any type of dough.

This is one of two mats I ordered. The other one is humongous by comparison and I ended up not liking it because of how unwieldy it is for washing. This one is more manageable in that regard so I'm happier with it. So far I've only used it to fold over on hamburger meat so I could roll them as flat as I prefer. I like hamburgers as thin as I can make them. It isn't that I couldn't accomplish the same thing with parchment paper but it always bugs me to have to throw the paper away afterwards. Eventually I'm going to cut the other mat in half and with the two together will be checking things out for pastry dough. I may come back to this review later to provide an update.

It’s a thick food grade silicone mat to let you prepare your baking items on the counter. It comes in a nice bag to store it in. This is a full-sized mat at nearly 28 inches by 20 inches, which is big enough to cover most of the counter top and it gives you plenty of room to mix your baking ingredients. They’ve used a thick silicone sheet to make it, it’s much thicker than another silicone baking sheet that I’ve used in the past. This is much more substantial. It’s easy to clean, and it gives good coverage.One important thing though, it’s not resistant to cutting, so it’s best never to use a sharp knife or a sharp or pointy baking utensil since that will cut right through it. There’s a raised edge to keep spills contained and it keeps things from dripping over the sides. There are size measurement markings and conversion tables for quick reference. There’s also a strap on the side so you can roll up the mat when your done and keep it for storage.All in all, it's quality made and this is a good surface for bakers to use.
