4.0 out of 5 stars Average quality tool - Junk bits
I was actually looking forward to getting this little, maneuverable die grinder, but after I put it together and put the 3mm drum abrasive in the collet, I started to clean up some minute ragged edges on the jaw of an adjustable wrench, the cheap pink abrasive drum flew of the tool never to be seen again. The tool itself does spin up and when I put a Dremel tool bit in it, it worked pretty good, easy to handle and control. Seemed to have a lot of vibration and not a lot of torque, but for what I'm using it for, that's not a big issue. It worked fine cleaning up some minute burrs left on some drilled holes and that's all I really need it for is detail work on mostly wood and plexiglass and occasionally steel and aluminum. All in all, it does do the job I need it to do and I'm happy with it, not ecstatic though.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great for small projects and hard to reach areas
The media could not be loaded. I already have Dremel and a few add-on heads for it that I’ve been using for smaller projects like metal grinding, polishing, and scraping; plastic parts alteration; wood carving. While it works for such applications, the shaft is not as long and flexible as I would like it to be. The tool is quite bulky too for certain harder to reach areas I had to deal with. Therefore, I started looking at some air die grinders that could be smaller with longer and significantly more flexible hoses. Coming across this little grinder I decided to give it a try. I also liked that it comes in a case with all the basic components needed to operate this thing. Even an air tool oil is included! Since I’m not that familiar with air grinders, it is hard for me to compare it to other air powered tools of this type. However, for my limited experience, it appears to be of good quality. I had no issues assembling it (just needed to install the air plug and oil it) and then installing one of the included grinding bits. There are only a few basic bits included, but that is not an issue as I already have a lot of them that I purchased for my Dremel. Instructions are included as well but even for my limited experience it was very straightforward to operate the tool so I mainly used the manual to verify the operating pressure. I liked the feel of it in my hands much better than my Dremel. It is quite small, easy to handle, and fits into even some really tight spaces. The air hose included with this tool is super flexible making it very easy to move around while doing the work. I like it way more than my add-on to Dremel that runs off of a not so flexible mechanical power transfer shaft. As to the noise, I’m not sure if it is louder than a typical Dremel. On the flip side, you do need a good compressor to run it continuously. So far, I only have a smaller pancake compressor that just can’t keep up with the tool and kicks in almost immediately (as you can hear from my video). I was able to run it for some time with the compressor running but the pressure dropped from 90 psi (operating point) to about 75-70 psi. I’ve been thinking of getting a larger compressor for some time anyway, so this would be yet another reason for the upgrade.
3.0 out of 5 stars On the cheap side, overpriced, but it works
It you search right here on Bolo you will find this exact same unit for 44% cheaper. As with most products from China, there is one manufacturer with tons of vendors selling it. A little browsing will save money. The blow mold case is very cheap. But seeing as it is made for a disassembled unit, you will throw it away as soon as you assemble the unit. It is strictly for selling the tool, not for use after assembly. Mine came with the case window knocked out and the bits all over the place. Fortunately, even with the window knocked out they were all there. The window is held in by pressure and easily comes out. There is no glue holding it. The unit does not come with thread tape, but you need to assemble it with thread tape, or you will have an air leak. Most people with a compressor already have thread tape on hand as every connection needs it.It comes with a little bottle of oil so that is a good thing. Air tools require oil if you want them to last.Rather than a simple button lock, bit replacement requires the 2 included wrenches. As the blow mold is only for a disassembled tool and poor quality, drill a small hole in the wrenches so you can run a little wire loop and hang them on your peg board. If not, you will most likely lose them fairly quickly. While the tool works at 90psi, the variable speed is highly sensitive and takes a little getting used to before you have speed control.Overall, it isn't a terrible micro grinder, but it is overpriced, doesn't come with thread tape and has a blow mold case that is useless once you assemble the unit.
4.0 out of 5 stars user friendly
The blow mold case is cheap and meant for a disassembled unit, likely to be discarded after assembly. Mine arrived with a broken window, though all parts were intact. It lacks essential thread tape for preventing air leaks, but most compressor users usually have some.It includes a small bottle of oil for air tool longevity. Changing bits requires the two included wrenches instead of a simple button lock, so consider drilling holes in the wrenches for easy storage. The tool operates at 90psi, but the sensitive variable speed may require practice. Overall, it’s a decent micro grinder, but feels overpriced, lacks thread tape, and the blow mold case is ultimately useless after assembly.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works great
Works awesome. Be warned that some bits can not handle the RPM this puts out and it will bend them. Beyond that this thing looks awesome, the color is great, and it works fantastic.
4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty well made
Nice little pneumatic grinder. This is perfect for small projects or detail work. I don’t use a ton of pneumatic tools but this is the exception. I do a lot of detail work. This is holding up well so far. At its price point….get it.
