I was so excited when I saw that this shipped flat. It allowed me to paint silhouettes on the inside before I assembled it into the drum shape. They only show up when the light is turned on.

When the light is turned on the pattern on shade is very decorative. It came with three different pieces to fix for the size of the lamp base. Easy to put together.
3.0 out of 5 stars An attractive looking lamp shade kit, but lacking details
This kit makes an attractive looking lamp shade when viewed from afar, but up close details are a bit sloppy. The fabric is an attractive mix of off whites and light tans woven to create a look I tend to like. On mine the way the fabric was mounted to the backing was flat (good), but rather wavy, the weave was mostly horizontal/vertical, but in many areas it would wave up to 45 degrees off from this and then back to its original orientation. This inconsistency does not do the shade any favors when viewed up close.Other than the fabric mounting issue above, the shade is a typical kit shade, it comes with top and bottom rings. The fabric part is pre-moutned to backing which has plastic clips to attach to the rings, and micro velcro to allow the ends to be attached together. This style of shade does not look as good as one bought fully assembled (or assembled from scratch on your own), but is cheap to purchase and ship. The assembly of the shade was simple and it went together cleanly for this style of shade. The micro velcro seem is a bit chunky, and the clip style ring attachments lead to a less refined look.The shade is on a uno mount (attaches to the limp socket fixture) but includes parts to make it compatible with harp mounts. The harp mount adapters are a bit fiddly to get mounted, but quite usable.All in all, these shade kits produce shades that are not as refined as prebuilt shades, but at a fraction of the price. I would give this four stars (understanding what it is, and price), but the waviness of the fabric mounting has led me to go with three stars.

I ordered this to replace the damaged shade of a little mercury glass lamp base that I love. I wasn't sure it would work size-wise but it's perfect. The shade took some assembly but it was super quick and easy to put together. It came with an adapter that allowed it to sit properly around the bulb without additional support. The lampshade itself is very lightweight but not flimsy. It has an organic look, providing a nice, textured effect when the lamp is lit--and it does a great job diffusing the light for a soft, warm, cozy glow.

This lampshade wasn't a lampshade, but a piece of plastic that I had to stretch over a piece of wire. It looks like a piece of plastic...I expected better!

Bought these shades to replace my lamp’s default dark brown shades. They were very easy to put together, took about 45 seconds each. I used LED lights and I like the way they brighten up the shades and the room. Great purchase.
