The 2 Pack LED Video Light Kit by Scrhot is an excellent choice for anyone looking to enhance their video recording and streaming setup. This kit, which includes two 15W LED lights and sturdy 64-inch tripods, offers flexibility and quality, making it a valuable addition for content creators, podcasters, and gamers alike. One of the standout features of this lighting kit is its dimmable capability, with a color temperature range of 2800-8400K. This allows users to customize the lighting according to their needs, whether you prefer a warm ambiance for a cozy podcast or a cooler tone for a more professional look. The ability to adjust brightness and color temperature makes it easier to achieve the desired aesthetic for various settings, ensuring that you can adapt to different environments and create the perfect lighting for every shot. The 64-inch tripods are robust and provide excellent stability, which is essential for maintaining consistent lighting during video sessions. The height adjustability allows you to set up the lights at the optimal level for your recording space, whether you're shooting from a seated position or standing. The tripods are also relatively lightweight and easy to transport, making them convenient for on-the-go creators who need to set up and tear down quickly.Durability is another strong point for this kit. The LED lights are built to last, and the overall construction of the tripods feels sturdy enough to withstand regular use without compromising stability. This reliability is crucial for anyone who frequently records videos or streams live, as it minimizes the risk of equipment failure mid-session.Setting up the lights is straightforward, making them accessible even for beginners. The user-friendly design allows for quick adjustments, ensuring you can get your lighting right without fussing over complicated configurations. The included instructions are clear, guiding you through the setup process efficiently. In terms of performance, the LED lights deliver a bright and even illumination that enhances video quality significantly. Whether you're streaming a gaming session or filming a tutorial, the improved lighting can make a noticeable difference in how your content looks. This is especially beneficial for creators who want to present a polished and professional appearance in their videos. However, it's important to note that while the kit is excellent for most casual and semi-professional uses, those with highly specific lighting requirements might need additional equipment for specialized setups. Additionally, the absence of softboxes means that the light output can be a bit harsh if not adjusted properly, so using diffusion materials could enhance the effect for those looking for softer lighting.**Key Points:**- **Dimmable and Adjustable:** Color temperature range of 2800-8400K for customized lighting.- **Sturdy Tripods:** 64-inch tripods provide stability and height adjustability.- **Durable Construction:** Built to withstand regular use for content creation.- **User-Friendly Setup:** Easy to install and adjust for quick use.- **Enhanced Video Quality:** Delivers bright, even illumination for professional-looking content. In summary, the 2 Pack LED Video Light Kit by Scrhot is a reliable and versatile solution for anyone serious about improving their video production quality. With its adjustable features and solid construction, it offers great value for money, making it a smart investment for both novice and experienced content creators.
3.0 out of 5 stars Super flimsy, not sure how long these will last
We got these to use on our @TheMidnightMechanic YouTube channel. We have some lighting problems in our shop so thought these might help. They do help a little bit, they are bright enough to provide the lighting but not too bright as to cause problems. The biggest problem is that they are super flimsy. The tripods are really cheap and we have trouble getting all three legs to stand at the same angle. The clamps are constantly letting the tubes slide and they are just teeter-tottery. In a mechanic shop, I'm sure they definitely won't survive. I doubt they'd survive inside my house.
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for what it's designed for IMHO
I have been using this for only a relatively short period of time but I wanted to go ahead and submit a review because my take on it is a little different than what I've read in other reviews. I think that for the price this is an excellent lighting tool and it works quite well for simple product lighting and also for facial lighting on Zoom meetings. I truly wish I had it back when we were all under Covid lockdowns and I was doing Zoom meetings with all sorts of 'home-made' and make shift lighting setups. No, this is not the lighting setup you need if you are a professional photographer. However, if your looking for something to improve your image on a Zoom call or wish to be able to get good even lighting of an article your snapping a photo of with your phone or tablet for online sales this works well. No the tripods aren't heavy duty...but then the lights themselves really aren't very heavy. It won't work well outdoors or in windy settings. However you can set them up on each side of a table for product pics or in front of a desk behind your webcam and really improve your picture. I mean, have you priced a 'professional' setup? You could not buy even one professional tripod for the price of this kit. I recommend it for the uses I have described and I would also suggest marking the little USB adapters so that they stay with this light when you put it away. They are 5 volt 3 amp each and your average phone charger adapters just won't power the lights properly.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good - Stands are a little short
The lights are good. They stands are little short. I have quite a bit for lighting equipment so I will swap out the stands for taller ones when needed. If you are tall you my not have they best results standing up. I do like how small they fold down.
5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome lighting
Light kit is easy to set up and use. It’s lightweight and portable. Lights work great and are adjustable. Great value and durable.
5.0 out of 5 stars Versatile LED Light Kit for Content Creators
This LED video light kit provides impressive value with dimmable 15W lights and adjustable color temperatures (2800K-8400K), perfect for creating tailored lighting effects. The sturdy 64-inch tripods offer stability and portability, making this an ideal setup for beginners. A bit more diffusion would enhance its soft lighting effect.
3.0 out of 5 stars Tripods arent sturdy
I love the lights that come with this but the tripods were a huge dissappiontment. There isnt a way to lock them so that they stand upright and sturdy. The legs kept sliding down and tightening the knobs didnt work. On one of the tripods the adjustment knob the washer or ring that allows it to turn slipped out and now i cant retract the tripod the knob turns freely with no resistance. So essentially one of the tripods is now unable to be used. The design of the tripods just isnt great at all and i cant really recommend the item. However the lights themselves i really like but now i have to usee another set of tripods i have. I would avoid this set
5.0 out of 5 stars The BEST Lights for Content Creating
These are the best lights for content creating! There are many settings, and in a room filming content, they do not get hot and overheat. These are worth the price!
Bright USB Powered Camera Lights with Many Light Temperatures that Work Well
The media could not be loaded. I do some video recording and lighting is something I need help with, some of my videos can look grainy especially when sunlight's unavailable. I needed extra light recording in lower light levels and wanted something portable and powered by USB, when I saw these 15-watt/1500-lumen light panels I was very interested as they seemed like a great option, I show in my video the lights in action! This package contains two light panels, tripods, gimbals, power adaptors, and a bag. The panels look great they have a diffused lens that is a seamless design with a 6-foot cord and can be mounted to a quarter-inch thread tripod vertically or horizontally. The touch controller has many functionalities, on/off, brightness, light temperatures, and modes. The tripods are of fair quality and made of metal and plastic they work fine holding the lights without tipping and will reach 72 inches to the top of the light head vertically, I recommend not to overtighten when setting them up!After testing I was impressed with the panels for their value, they are rated at 15 watts which is quite bright, a 60-watt equivalent LED bulb draws about 8 watts, so these are equivalent to about a 135-watt incandescent bulb. The light output is defused and there are 3 quick light color modes, plus the 10 light temperatures from 2500K - 8500K and the light output has a good hue and color range, the power adaptors work well and provide the 3A needed for full brightness! I used my power station to operate the lights and noticed that the whiter or yellowest colors on high brightness draw the highest about 15-16 watts, and the in-between shades draw less about 12 watts. When using the lights they draw at least 15 watts on high so a 3-amp adaptor or USB port is required to power the light at the highest brightness, I can use the lights with some of my 2A amp power banks on lower light levels only, and I'm okay with this, I've noticed some 2A power banks will not power them.I have tried these camera lights in many environments indoors and out, these are my favorite USB-powered light panels. They are lightweight, bright, cast a nice light, and are USB-powered, Nice! I appreciate having this set of two lights as now I have much better lighting for recording indoors and out. I like that they can taken anywhere and used with my power bank or power station, convenient! I'm happy to have these lights so I'm giving the 2 Pack LED Video Light Kit 5 Stars.
Inexpensive Starter Set and Probably All You Need
This is not a rugged, heavy duty set. It’s not meant to be. It’s lightweight, portable, very inexpensive, and if you don’t need to light a large area, it’s all you need. Unlike some other set-ups which at first glance may appear identical, there aren’t any batteries that come with this one. Personally, I would far rather not have built-in batteries for something like this. If I need power, I can use either a wall outlet or two power banks. Why pay extra for power banks dedicated to this use? Probably you already have a couple of power banks hanging around but even if you don’t, wouldn’t you rather pay for power banks that can be used for anything versus power banks that can be used only for one thing? The tripods are extremely lightweight. They are fine for indoor photography but will not be stable outdoors in the wind without some accommodation. What I like about these tripods is that the legs splay out so that the entirety of the legs can be in direct contact with the ground (assuming it’s a flat surface). In windy conditions you could put something weighted on top of the splayed-out legs to secure the tripod.Since the ball head has a universal connection, you can also use one of these tripods for a camera or a cell phone.A controller integrated into the electrical cord is simple and intuitive. The carrying case isn’t fantastic. A cheap and easy way to improve how you transport this gear is to buy a pair of very long, very thick, very fuzzy ladies’ socks. Put one tripod in each and you will have some good padding for your tripods in their bag. My biggest problem with this entire set is that the lights themselves should have been provided with a separate bag so that they can be placed face to face and secured that way. A cheap and easy workaround is to use a very thin towel. Just put the two light panels face to face, put one layer of the towel between them, and wrap the towel around the outside of the panels. When placed in the carrying bag with other items, the lights and the towel should stay together well enough. Alternatively, strap the lights together with some velcro or camping straps. At least the bag has a division in the middle running lengthwise so your tripods can go on one side and the lights on the others. There is also a small pocket in the bag for your wall chargers. The bag does not have a closure on the top and I would prefer that it did. Then again, how often are you going to be carrying all of this gear around? There are plenty of ways that this set can be improved upon, but the bottom line is that this set will probably do what you need it to and that it cost less than $70, even without any coupons or discounts.
30fps, 1/60s, F4.5, and ISO 800 possible for one-light half-body presenter-style filming (4.5 Stars)
Pros:- Decent build quality- Metal tubing on light stands- Well-designed ball-head- 10 steps of brightness adjustment- 10 steps of colour temperature adjustment- M button for quick temperature changes- Slightly brighter than older USB powered LED lights- Suitable for head-and-shoulder or half-body filming- Includes 2 power adaptersCons:- Light stands require force to lock screws- Stands trade stability for compactness- Stands sometimes do not stand straight- Stands barely high enough for stand-up shots (56-57 inches without light installed)The Scrhot 2 Pack 15W Dimmable 2800-8400K LED Video Light Kit is of decent build quality. While the light stands have metal tubing, it takes some force to lock the screws. Unfortunately, the stands trade stability for compactness but are good enough for a small LED light like this one. Sometimes the stand will not stand straight. I do not like such a design. The actual height of the stand is 56-57 inches with no light installed. The stand is barely high enough for a stand-up shot. The ball head, on the other hand, is well-designed and works very well. The LED light itself takes a maximum current of 2.76A at 5V when set at the coolest and warmest ends of the colour temperature. My old LED light only took about 2.4A of current. Two 5V power adapters are included in the kit. There are 10 steps of brightness and 10 steps of colour temperature adjustments which should be good enough for most cases. In addition, the M button switches the light’s temperature directly to the coolest, warmest, or neutral temperature. This saves a few clicks. In terms of power output, the LED light under review is almost half a stop brighter than my old LED light in the coolest and warmest colour temperatures, which is not unexpected because of the higher current draw. However, when a “balanced” colour temperature is used, they have about the same output brightness. In actual use, with a one-light setup at maximum power, it can handle head-and-shoulder or half-body presenter-type filming. It is possible to film at 30fps, 1/60s, F4.5, and ISO 800, when the video light is just out of the frame. For headshots at 30fps, 1/60s, and ISO 800, the aperture can be increased to F6.3 when the video light is just out of the frame. These exposure tests were done when the video light was set to maximum power and 2800K colour temperature.Overall, this is a decent lighting kit for home use, good for half-body presenter-type filming. The 10-step colour temperature adjustment should adapt to most indoor lighting. I am very happy with the LED lights but wish the light stands could be more stable.
3 to 3.5 STARS. Lacks the diffusion quality of better versions. Not the best look.
Current price point at the time/date of this review: $69.99 with no discount/coupon being offered. While the pricing is fair for a combo pack with two lighting heads along with two tripods and such, a small discount/coupon would be better to see as the do not perform nearly as well as another better quality set that I own. While the budget value is attractive, if the lights worked a little better I think it would offer less buyers dissonance.Main gripe: I don’t like the LED diodes showing so obviously when lit along with the mix of color temperatures and the way it was executed. The tripod stands are reasonable and generally very similar to most other types - especially when it comes to budget. It comes with fittings and other stuff among a carrying bag. It’s an amateur set at best and not to be taken too seriously.
Excellent starter kit
This lightweight, portable lighting set is a budget-friendly option that gets the job done for basic indoor photography or supplemental lighting needs. It's not rugged or heavy-duty, but that’s not its purpose. It’s designed to be easy to set up, transport, and use, making it ideal for those who don’t need to light up a large area. One key thing to note is that this set doesn’t come with built-in batteries, which, for many, is a plus. You can power it using a wall outlet or two power banks, offering flexibility. Personally, I find it more practical to use my own power banks instead of paying extra for dedicated ones. The tripods are extremely lightweight and stable enough for indoor use. Outdoors, especially in windy conditions, they might need some help staying steady. The legs splay out fully to make contact with the ground, which helps. You could add some weight on top of the legs if needed, making them more secure in tricky weather. Since the ball head has a universal connection, the tripods can also be used with a camera or phone, which is a nice bonus. The lights are controlled via a simple push-button switch on the power cord. While the cord could be longer, the response time is quick enough, and the light output is decent for small spaces. They’re great as a starter set or as a backup for additional lighting. The carrying case is functional but not fantastic. It's divided lengthwise so that the tripods can go on one side and the lights on the other, with a small pocket for wall chargers. However, the case lacks padding for the lights, which could lead to potential damage over time. A simple DIY solution, like using fuzzy socks for the tripods or wrapping the lights in a thin towel, can easily solve this. Strapping the lights together with Velcro or camping straps would also work. A closure on the top of the bag would have been preferable, but for the price, this is a minor drawback.Overall, this set offers plenty of value for less than $70. It's not perfect, but with a little care, it will likely meet your needs, whether for indoor shoots or supplemental lighting. It’s a good investment for anyone starting out or looking for a cost-effective solution.
