We needed a new set of knives for our hunting cabin and this exactly fits the bill. The set contains everything needed for daily cooking and meets the needs of everyone except possibly the most finicky super chef. The variety of knives comes in all sizes from a small paring knife to a large chef's knife and a large slicer. The serrated edged bread knife is exactly what is needed for breads, cakes and other crumbly things. I love the ceramic coating on these knives as it assures that they move smoothly through whatever you are cutting. They are very sharp on arrival but are also easy to hone with a steel sharpener. The addition of the peeler is very helpful since it saves me from having to peel potatoes or carrots with the paring knife! The plastic non-slip handles are convenient to use even when my hands are wet or slippery. The knives can go in the dishwasher without melting the handles but, like all knives, are better off being washed by hand. The harsh soap in the dishwasher can dull the sharpness of knives. This is an inexpensive set and a good value.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great knives
Super sharp right out of the box. This basic set of knives put my old knives to shame. Really happy to have these. So far I'm satisfied with the fit and handling of the knives. There is a knife for every possible need. The serrated knife is especially handy. The peeler is a nice bonus!
4.0 out of 5 stars Wow
My old knives has to go, they were so blunt I couldn't even cut a leaf with it. These..these change my life, literally make it easier and my hands don't hurt as much anymore. It easy to cut with, super sharp and the different blades are amazing.
5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely sharp!
Recently I accidentally cut my thumb with one of these knives - but that's just a testament to how wonderfully sharp they are (I was being clumsy). I've never seen white blades like this, they're the sharpest in my kitchen and I love them.

Nice quality, perfect gift. Easy to use.
3.0 out of 5 stars Perfectly usable knives... More or less.
I'll be honest, the grips and the knives themselves feel pretty good in my hand. They're very lightweight and easy to use. That being said, I was expecting them to be a LOT sharper than what they are. Don't get me wrong, you can still cut with them, but I would actually call them somewhat dull compared to what I would think a person would normally expect from brand new knives. Definitely on the duller side of "still sharp enough to cut".Most people likely don't have a knife sharpening kit. And, even if they do, many people wouldn't know the optimum angles to be grinding at these knives to get a nice edge on them. Amateurs are as likely to blunt the blades as they are to sharpen them. At the very least, the customer shouldn't feel like they have to sharpen brand new blades that they just purchased. So, I knocked off 1 star for the sharpness of the blades. They're still usable, but not as usable as they should be. Not as usable as they look like they'd be. To put it in perspective, I can lightly run my finger along any of the blades (except the bread knife) without it breaking the skin. That's pretty dull.I knocked off another star because the Peeler tool doesn't seem to be the one that's in the images. The one I received is very similar, except the blade is entirely blade of plastic. I haven't tried to use it extensively yet, but I have my doubts about how useful a plastic blade will be. After looking at the images, at least one of them clearly shows a metal blade. The other image looks like it could be a metal blade as well.If I'm being honest, I could've done without the plastic Peeler and the money saved from that could've gone toward making the blades sharper.

Very sharp and great quality knives
4.0 out of 5 stars A decent basic set of knives.
Well this is a very ok and basic set of knives. On the good side they were sharp and the knife blades on these feel very good and hefty. I am unsure about how the non-stick coating is necessary on a knife but over time will see and will try and update the review. I did some basic stuff and they cut good out of the gate. The problem I have is that the handles, while not feeling cheap or anything, are just too light for the heft of the blade. So the bigger knives feel very unbalanced, which is not a good quality in a set of knives. The smaller ones are fine and it's probably not a big deal, but if you know really good knives you will understand. I would get these for like a college kid or someone who is starting out and needs a set on a very tight budget. As they are really good price.
