5.0 out of 5 stars Nice glasses - but the “espresso” size cup is quite large
These espresso cups appear to be well made and are attractive. I appreciate the double walled glass. The outside does not get very warm, yet the coffee stays hot/warm longer than in my ceramic cups. The handle size is good, too. I can easily get two fingers in, and it is comfortable to hold that way. They also fit very well in my De'Longhi Essenza Mini espresso machine. I wash the cups in the dishwasher with no problems so far. I will also say they came very well packaged for shipping. My only real complaint is the size. I should’ve noted that more carefully before ordering. These “espresso cups” hold 6 ounces (right to the lip) - which means they technically can hold six shots of espresso. A typical espresso shot is one fluid ounce; a lungo (or “long”) cup holds twice as much at two ounces. See my photo of the three cup types together: a lungo, this cup, and an espresso shot cup. I would call these small coffee cups, rather than large espresso cups. My photos of the cup show a lungo pour. Since I don’t ever add anything to my espresso drink that's how I think of an espresso cup. However, I know that many cappuccino cups come in a six-ounce size -- so perhaps these are designed for that purpose. If your preference is to enjoy specialty cups of espresso including cappuccino, then these may be the perfect size for you.Overall I can recommend these cups with the understanding that they are fairly large for espresso cups.
5.0 out of 5 stars Better Than Expected!
I order a couple different cup sets to replace my old chipped ones. Decided on trying a glass set and found these! I was pleasantly surprised by them. They are double wall and appear to be blown glass. Don’t see any mold marks, handle is welded on, and the base of the cup appears to have a slight mark from where it was attached to the rod. These things make me think they might be boro glass, they do claim to have high heat change resistance. Most of the time they aren’t but with the way they’re made plus how thin yet hefty they feel, I’d say they might actually be boro.Glass is nice and smooth, and the handle opening is a bit larger. Making it feel nice in hand. It is also large enough to fit 4 shots of espresso and even top it off with a splash of whatever you like.Overall I’m very happy with them and the wife likes them as well!
4.0 out of 5 stars Very elegant and go with just about anything
I’ve always thought that clear glass cups look very elegant and go with just about anything. These small, double-layer cups keep your drink warm without being too warm to touch. They are a little larger than more traditional espresso cups, but that means they can also be used for more traditional hot drinks. The online description says that they are dishwasher safe, but there is a small hole in the bottom of the cup so there may be some water between the cup walls after going through the dishwasher. Not a big deal, but if that sort of thing bothers you, it might be advisable to simply wash them by hand. Still, very nice, good-looking cups to go with your new espresso machine.
5.0 out of 5 stars Love them and great packing
The set I got came in a really nicely packed box. Super large with with a medium density foam. All four came in perfect condition and look great. They say they're able to stand boiling temp water. I have trust issues, so I'll probably try to warm mine at least a little before putting hot liquids in (I saw a regular coffee mug break in half from hot water once). Anyways, these seem well made. They're the perfect size for a more classic cappuccino, and the double wall insulation will help it stay hot. Besides, the aesthetic is awesome. I love them. A lot. Very much.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice quality and appearance
Though a coffee drinker for years, I've recently begun to up my game with better quality coffee. Most of my glassware for coffee is frankly too large compared to requirements for espresso so I picked up this nice set of cups. They are very well made, and the double walled glass provides insulation. Though still a little large for a true espresso cup, I tend to go more with cappuccinos and for that, the size is perfect. Whether it's a cappuccino or a double shot of espresso, they are well presented in these hansom glasses.
2.0 out of 5 stars Very thin and small
The cups are really cute but drink alot of coffee so for me this cup is too small and would not be ideal. The glass is also very thing and I’d rather not stress over my cup breaking everytime I use it. So in my opinion durability is a concern. This will sit in my cabinets because I’m sure I will not be using them.
5.0 out of 5 stars My go-to mugs!
There's nothing like a double-walled glass mug to let you admire your espresso and keep your hand cool as you sip it. These mugs are perfect for the task. Pleasing to the eye, light in the hand, and perfectly sippable. Just large enough for a milk drink, but small enough that a double shot on its own won't look lonely. And they clean out wonderfully. What more is there to say?
5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful
Very beautiful cups that are crystal clear. They're the perfect shape and size for an espresso shot. I like the double wall, it makes the cups feel very sturdy and not easy to break. The double wall also acts as an insulator that keeps the temperature of your drink, either hot or cold. I enjoy this set a lot and might buy more as gift.
