About this item:
The AT-LP70X fully automatic belt-drive turntable is designed for budding vinylphiles – those who love the engaged, real-world experience of listening to records, from flipping through albums at the record store, to placing a record on the turntable, cueing the tonearm, and sitting back with the album art in hand to enjoy warm, analog music as the artist intended. Arguably, the most important component for generating high-fidelity audio from vinyl is a quality phono cartridge. Audio-Technica has been a leader in phono cartridge design for more than 60 years, and we’ve drawn on that expertise to create a versatile, high-performance cartridge for this turntable – performance that other turntables in this class simply can’t match. Integrated into the J-shaped tonearm, the AT-VM95C cartridge with 0.6 conical stylus offers excellent channel separation and low distortion for outstanding tonal quality. And the stylus can also be easily upgraded with any of the other styli (elliptical, microlinear, or Shibata) in our VM95 Series, offering customization that is normally only possible on a turntable with a detachable headshell and cartridge. The easy-to-use AT-LP70X plays both 33-1/3 and 45 RPM records and, with its built-in switchable phono preamp, can be connected directly to a home stereo, powered speakers, computer and other components, whether they have a dedicated phono input or not. The three-piece, anti-resonance chassis provides a solid foundation that dampens unwanted noise for improved sound quality. Noise is further reduced by the inclusion of an AC adapter that moves the AC/DC conversion outside of the chassis to limit its impact on the signal chain.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly What I Was Looking For
This is a great turntable for anyone who wants a no fuss way to play records. No aligning cartridges, measuring tone arm force and balance. Just plug and play. My records have never sounded better! The automatic operation is quick and gentle, it’s a very responsive system. I also like that you have lots of stylus to choose from…starting with blue, it sounds good, but I will try others and see how the sound changes. Overall very happy!
4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent starter turntable with no real upgrade path, built-in phono preamp.
Lots of solid tech, built in phono preamp, tracking &c set at factory.(I'm a professional audio engineer)The good: rock solid, silent motor. No noise, no hum, no whine no nothing. This is no small thing!Ingenious cue damping, and automatic works well.Simple, elegant design. Looks sharp. Lid locks and works well.Tonearm tracks perfectly out of the box.Decent if vanilla cartridgeThe bad: no way to use a nice cartridge, which is too bad considering how great everything else isStock stylus is only OK, a little bright, a little reedy. Slightly woolly bass.No place to store 45 adapterMatt was not perfectly round....no real biggie
5.0 out of 5 stars Love it
I wanted to get back into vinyls and looked at a number of turntables for several months. Then this unit came along. This is a very good turntable for the price point. Works well, my records sound very good.
4.0 out of 5 stars Very good turntable
For price for an automatic turntable it is just right. I does everything I want. Just wish there was a storage slot for 45 adapter
5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful in black and bronze
Just turned 70 and got tired of having to get up to start then stop my audiophile type turntable. Solution, why not try a fully automatic turntable for a change but which one. I did not like the styles of the existing automatic turntable until I saw a review of the Audio Technica AT-LP70-BZ on a Youtube channel. It looked okay but how would it sound. I decided to take a chance and find out for myself, to my surprise the AT-LP70 looks beautiful in black and bronze and it sounds really good with the Blue conical stylus. I have ordered the black elliptical AT stylus to finish the set up for now. I am very pleased with this turntable it makes listening to my albums fun again like it should be, simple and relaxing.
4.0 out of 5 stars Double check your needle before trying to use.
used for playing oldies 33 1/3 records.Couldn't get it to work at first. Found out needle was bent and when i tried to straighten it,it broke off. Had to buy new needle before getting it to work. Actually bought two, a spare.Works fine now.
