    This is an attractive heavy duty ceramic baking dish. Dish is extra deep so it's perfect for roasting a whole chicken, pork or beef tenderloin, creamy casseroles and lasagna. I've been looking for a dish this size and depth for years and was thrilled to find this particular baking dish. The maker also sells a nesting set of smaller bakeware. I have ordered those as well. It will be nice to finally have a matching, nesting set of good quality bakeware! Nesting bakeware takes up so much less storage space in a cabinet. Dishwasher & oven safe. Unglazed bottom is scratchy on delicate surfaces. Use a silicone trivet.

    I appreciate the high walls of this MALACASA baking dish, because our usual lasagna/mac & cheese pan is a shallower d13x9 Pyrex. More height, more layers, and no more overflow. In comparison, the textured handles are easier to grip sure-handedly than the Pyrex. The outward faces show no major imperfections, aside from a few tiny burst bubbles in the glazing. The baking surface has a few dark specks. I can't tell for sure if they're in the glaze, or the ceramic itself. The placement appears random, so I don't believe they had a fundamental problem with their production equipment. If you have OCD, you might take issue. Otherwise, the baking dish is a fairly-priced performer that cooks as good as it looks. I wish it came with a lid.
